Do you think that the reason she constantly yells at you, might have something to do with you getting on her nerves?

Get yourself a note book, and each time your mum yells at you, write down what you did or said that caused her to yell at you. Don’t just write ‘what you said’… but how you said it… What tone of voice did you use toward her?

Does the reason she yells at you have anything to do with the fact that she asks you to do things, and you don’t do them?
It could be that her patience with you is running low.
Don’t give her reasons to yell at you !!!

My guess is that you are a teenager and that you would like to be treated like an adult. The problem is that you are not an adult, you are an adult in training and your mom is the trainer. She may not be the best trainer around, but since she is getting on your nerves, we know she is trying. Now you've got to try also. Your whole job in life right now is to learn how to be an adult. You most likely don't have to hold down a 40 hr/wk job (or two) to put food on the table or a roof over your head, but that is coming. While your mom is lucky to have an hour of free time on the weekdays, you probably have plenty. Use some of it to have a great time growing up, but also use some to listen to what your mom is telling you. She was where you are now once upon a time. She made the mistakes you will make soon unless she can show you how to avoid them. She knows that and she's worried that you will fall into the same holes she or her friends did. So you must decide. Are you going to fall into them or listen up?

And why is she yelling at you????

Don't give her any back talk, don't roll your eyes, don't whine, etc

Keep your room clean, do your chores, help her out with carrying something or doing something nice for her once in a while, etc.

Most of all, behave yourself.

You can try and put yourself in your mom's shoes and try to understand what the yelling is all about. Is she frustrated because you're not really listening to her? Is she upset because you're not showing her respect? Is she tired because she's doing the best she can and you don't appreciate all that she does? Is she depressed? Is she simply repeating what her mother used to do to her without realizing it? REALLY listen to her. REALLY see her. You might not be able to change her behavior, but you can change yours.

How do you expect anyone to answer this without knowing the full story? For all we know, you may need to stop being a brat and your mom won't yell at you.

I play the piano when someone pisses me off, find an outlet, chances are, your mother isn't going to change her ways anytime soon. Unless you're really lucky. I never had much luck so I just learned to deal.
