Make sure child is not in the home while you sprinkle the borax on the carpet though its toxic to ingest.

There is really no such thing as a safe flea bomb, by the very nature of it. But there is a way to treat your home for fleas, with relatively little risk to the child.
Plan to have the child out of the house for the day, and get a powder that will kill fleas and flea eggs. Arm and Hammer puts out a good one, or you can try borax or powdered laundry detergent. Sprinkle it heavily on all your carpet and furniture, and let sit for at least 20 minutes, then vacuum. And keep vacuuming every day for at least 2 weeks: That's when the last viable flea eggs will hatch.
You may want to have your yard and under your house treated too, in case more fleas are hiding there.
Good luck!

If you "have" to flea bomb, find a place to spend the nite and a nice place for your daughter to spend the day while you vaccum and wipe down walls.
Set the bomb off, go somewhere for the night and then in the morning come back ALONE. Clean house without your daughter there. Clean the floors and the walls, because she will be putting her hands on the walls where the "smoke" settled (smoke meaning bug poison). Once the floor and walls are cleaned, just make sure every toy is unpacked (pack what you can first) so that they aren't poisoned and then go get her!
PS your 15 month old is gorgeous!

You should hire a reputable pest control company to help you with this situation. You have a child that is crawling! Do you have fish or birds in the house? A pest control operator that is state licensed has had training and is state certified. If you hire a company they have different chemicals to use, have been taught how to spray, where to spray, how to mix the spray, will answer questions for you a)how long to be out of the home, b) what to do to prepare you for the treatment c) do you have other pets in the home (cat or dog & should they be in the home when treating d) how to treat the pets or what to do so both home & pets are treated equally e)if you still have a problem in 30, 60 or 90 days will it still be guaranteed f)they will explain how to prepare the home for your child's safety when treated g)explain what not to do after treating so all the chemical is not cleaned up by you g)they'll also find out if you or your child has allergies or are sensitive to petro-chemicals. h)upon request they can also give you a material safety data sheet. This is all stuff that needs to be discussed before spraying any type of chemical to be on the safe side.

I dont think any chemicals are safe, I would bomb the house and let your child stay at a family members for a day or 2.
