yes.....i find most of the people who are prejudiced towards asylum seekers have never travelled outside the country, they feel safe in their own enviroment, living in their little bubble, they feel threatened when someone not like them arrives, it is just ignorance. It also amuses me when i see a country like Britain who spent centuries "conquering" other nations get all moral when the people of these nations decide to follow them home.

People who propogate ill informed prejudice are ignorant but it does seem rather unlikely that most are actually members of the Constabulary.
However much of the prejudice against Asylum seekers is only prejudice because the persons concerned have made a decision regarding this issue after much research and so have pre judged the question.
A further point is where on earth do these Seekers hope to find an Asylum , they were all closed down in the reorganisation of mental health provision, or have I missed something here.

I'm don't particularily care for asylum seekers either. The problem however is not the person trying to get asylum. Can't knock them for trying. It's more the lawyers, that after they are found to have no basis to their claim for asylum that clog up the system with appeals. Then of course the stay for another year or two, living under the radar, collecting benifit. Many are fleeing their country because of crimes they have commited that in there country they can recieve the death penalty, or some other servere punishment. They are not dissedents or political prisoners, they are common theives, rapists, murderers, drug lords, and gangsters. Then they are allowed to stay here, and they continue to carry out crimes. I don't think this is right. A ligitimate asylum seeker is not so bad, but these days everyone who comes from a military run state, dictatorship or monarchy that does not fall into the western way of life can claim asylum. They have even let hijackers stay in Britian....HIJACKERS!!!! If we go home we will be executed for hijacking a plane. F&*^KING GOOD!! I think people are more ignorant about immigrants coming from Europe than they are Asylum seekers, because asylum seekers really are a problem. So is OPEN immigration

The answer is in your question. If people propogate ill informed prejudice, the very terms ill informed and prejudice have to mean they are ignorant. Ignorance however is understandable when your cultural identity is deemed to be under threat. This country is predominantly racist with the majority of people favouring repatriation according to recent polls but I think you will find that is the same in any country. What we are seeing is simply human nature. But pigs? No, pigs are quite nice. Racism, xenophobia and prejudice are all human traits.

No, they are probably really pi$$ed off with the fact that Asylum Seekers come into the country and take jobs, council houses, use health service without paying any taxes etc. Need I go on?

If you are from the UK I hope you need to go to hospital, OH sorry there is a 3 month waiting list, and the NHS cannot afford the drugs to keep you alive......why?
Because 90% of asylum seekers and immigrants come here for the free medical treatment!

What's wrong with being predjudiced against asylum seekers? The country is full, and there are still people like you around wanting to invite more in. You appear to have been indoctrinated by your teachers/lecturers, or perhaps, the left wing TV media. Wake up to reality.

no they are just tired of middle class mid england do gooders messing up their country. Why dont you send your child to a school full of somalians or why dont you have lots of asylum seeker friends and invite them round for dinner or take them to visit your parents? Instead of that you call everyone names but i bet you dont even have a bunch of ethnic friends who were born and bred here to treat in an appropriate manner

sir if you are implying that i am an ignorant pig perhaps i could clarify things for you. i hire legal immigrants and pay them the same rate as all my other employees which is 7 pounds per hour. as a tax payer and the same goes for all my employees why should we have to pay for a so called asylum seeker to live amongst us. if they want to work and pay taxes fair enough, but most of them expect handouts. why last week for example one of my most trusted immigrant workers brought his 2 cousins to me for work, i asked for their p45 neither of them had anything. i quickly contacted the authorities and they are now awaiting deportation as for my employee he has now got a date with the dole office and the police.
