I grew up in the 70's and developed a connection to the sad love songs sung by Karen Carpenter. The songs make me feel better somehow perhaps by reflecting sadness and love I feel inside at the same time sometimes and her voice is comforting to me and causes me to reflect.

I like to listen to rock when I'm in that mood...

ACDC - TNT, Jailbreak, Son of a B*tch, Rock & Roll Ain't Noise Pollution...
ZZ Top - Got Me Under Pressure, Dirty Dog, Sharp Dressed Man
Billy Squire - The Stroke, Everybody Wants You, My Kinda Lover
Blackfoot - Train Train
Def Leppard - Rock of Ages, Foolin', Photograph
....there are so many more...these just came to mind first

I like to take a long drive with the music up loud.

Depends on what exactly I'm trying to escape from... I always say "man problems" drove me to love heavy metal. I turn it up loud, and it gets all the anger out for me.

When I'm stressed or worried about life in general, I tune into one of the internet "new age" stations, and that music usually calms me down and helps me stay focused.

something that is soothing to the ears tike the sound of nature or classical songs like mozart's and other classical compossers. but it would really depend on you... some people like loud noises to realease the emotions that they have with it... some people use soothing music for them to reflect on things or just appreciate the sound that they are hearing... i hope i have helped somehow. ^_^
