I think maybe 25.
Otherwise, you end up with "the Smith Nightclub."

14 is way too young, even for one overnight. Why would anyone want to do that, or think it's okay?

18, unless you want to take a chance of being charged with endagering the welfare of a child. Anyone under 18 is a minor and should not be left completely alone for a whole weekend. I stayed alone when I was a kid starting around the age of 11, but at the most it would just be during the day while my parents were at work. My neighbors were home if I needed them, and my mom called to check in on me every two hours. By 14 I was staying alone during the day and babysitting, but again, neighbors and mom weren't too far away if I needed them. I think by 16 I stayed alone a few nights here and there, but my boyfriend stayed with me so my parents wouldn't have to worry about my safety.

Honestly, I am a regular babysitter and I have actually stayed with a fourteen year old for a weekend before. I believe that a child should not be home alone for more than a few hours at this age. The child is not able to drive in case of emergency...yes, I understand there are emergency numbers, etc. but you just never know. I think this should not occur until the child is at least 16 and has his or her driver's license and access to a car. I suggest leaving him or her at a friend's house or babysitter if possible.

Well, I am 15 and have never stayed home alone for that long, but I am home alone for the night quite often and have never done anything bad sooo I would say that age isnt really an issue its about maturity. If you think your 14-year-old can handle it and knows how to make good decisions then go for it! If you want , you could have him/her invite a trustworthy friend over to stay as well incase of an emergency or something, but yah if they're able to handle themselves properly then that's not a problem.

14 is way too young. If a very good friend or relative is next door and on the alert, I might do it at 16. I didn't really feel ok about doing it until my youngest was 18 and out of high school. Life can be complicated and dangerous, which is why children need the supervision and protection of adults.

Each child will be ready at a diffrent time. It becomes the parents job to decide when the child is matchure enough to handle being alone for the weekend. If it's the first time you want to have a friend or family member call and check on your child.

A child can be left alone at the age of twelve according to the law however I would doubt that EVERY child that age is able to handle that responsibility. You would have to use your own judgement. Be sure to have neighbors or friends check in!!!

Yeah should be fine if the kid is mature & responsible. But keep your eyes out for evidence of parties!! I'd say no younger than 12 or 13 to be left alone that long if they're really mature.
