Yes I do, and it comforts me very much. I don't believe that they are with us all of the time though, only when we think about them or miss them very much. I guess you could say when we are in a crisis and they feel that we need comforting, much like an angel. Do you believe in angels, or
God comforting when you pray? Then why is it so hard to believe that the people you truly loved and depended on might be there for you even
though they have passed on?

For Christians, for example, if you walk by faith the answer would be no. Death would bring people either Heaven, Hell or Purgatory to get to Heaven. In my opinion, death is the ultimate mystery and nobody has returned from it to give an account. I'm not a believer in the dead being among the living, but here's the important thing to remember: love is eternal and cannot die, and you can spiritually carry the essence of your loved ones' in your heart and memories after they have passed away. The impact, the meaning, the footprint of their lives live on in you as long as you live. I always hope and pray that my loved ones who have passed away have gone on to their next spiritual journey, whatever that is. Also, for me, thinking that they could see and hear me would scare me very much, not comfort me. But I can see how others would be comforted.

No, I don't think the dead can see of hear or feel. I think the dead are just that....DEAD. I think that they will stay that way until the day of resurrection. The bible tells us that the dead know NOTHING.
I Do love someone very much that has died. MY Grandmother. It would not comfort me at all to know that she could see or hear me. I would not like the idea of her looking down on her love ones,if she were in heaven, knowing and seeing everything. When we hurt, she would hurt. Seeing the world as it is today and knowing her family resides in it, would be cruel. That's the reason I believe that when you die your dead until resurrection day, and God would not be that cruel. He is a loving God.

No, for obvious reasons. If people say that the dead can hear or see us, let them open a tomb. Let them ask the occupant how they feel. Let them tell you if they got answers.

But, that would be too messy. Why not just read the Bible? The good book says:

Eccl 9:5,10. The dead knows nothing at all.
Isaiah 38:18. Dead ones can not even praise God, they can't even hope for him.

Hey there! Those of you who believe that the dead can see and help us. Which would you rather do? Open a tomb, or read the above biblical citations and believe in them.

Nope. No way would it be a comfort if they could know I was suffering or had no means of support and was starving or some such thing. I am glad they cannot hear or see a thing that is going on. See Eccl. 9:5-6, one of many that tell the dead hear and see nothing and know nothing of what is going on in this Earth.

No I don't, I used to try to contact the dead but I was never convinced, and then when I became a Christian I realised it's not the dead themselves that come through, but evil spirits who are familiar with the dead. It's a dangerous and biblically forbidden thing to do. Only God knows what the future holds.

When there is so much isolation, loneliness, suffering and poverty in the world we are living in; why can't the living see and hear us? Here I am reading these answers to your question and I realise that there are so many people who believe they have the answer. They might be right but the answer is of no importance, if what matters is the well-being of the living then the living need to start looking at and listening to the needs of others. Shalom.

They can see and hear us but life does go on after death and they don't generally hang around us watching or listening, as they have things to do. Where a departed spirit is still here it's because there is something they need to say to us, even if it's just "Don't worry, I'm fine, it was just my body that died - I'm still here!" We're not meant to continue having in-depth conversations all the time with our departed loved ones. We are supposed to get on with our lives without them, and wait until we meet them again after our own death.

The dead knows nothing.

We are told that as soon as you died, all your thoughts vanish.
You are asleep, until the resurrection when Christ comes and wakes you up again.

If someone you loved died, it would not comfort me. Jesus will comfort me.

Think about it, why will God allow your love one to watch, when someone stabs and kills you, and your love one can't do anything to help or save you. Why would God allow that to happen!
It don't make sense, does it?
The Bible tells me that God is love. God loves us. He will never put us through that.
Our love ones will sleep until God calls them home in the resurrection.

I have included a video on this same issue. Watch it and am sure you will learn and understand more what am talking about.

It would be incredibly comforting to still be with loved ones that have died. But what comforts me more is what the Bible states:
Gen. 3:19 Dust you are, to dust you return...
Rom. 6:23 Wages sin pays = death.

Basically, death is the end. If life continued why does the bible claim Satan's 1st lie was "You positively will NOT die... God knows... you will be like him..." Gen. 3:4
That lie is still being told. God told the truth / the Devil lied.

The real hope is that God promises to bring the dead back to life and given the opportunity to worship him acceptably.
Acts 17:31.. set a day in which he will resurrect.

That truth has provided much comfort.
