Write a list of things that make you "feel bad" at home...is it your parents? Your room? The colors? The lack of light? DOes it remind you of a situation? A previous relationship, a financial problem??? Should you move out with another family member, or friend?
Once you have this down, work with this, see a counselor if need be, these are free at school.
If you have been on the medicine more than 2 months and you still feel bad or feel worse...tell your doctor and try a different medicine. Try changing your room's layout, add new colors, more natural light, flowers, lavender fragrances, soft teddies, maybe a pet, like a guinea pig or cat. Have a daily walk outside in daylight, walk your neighbor's dog if you need loving non-judgemental company. Eat more fruits, eat less baked goods and sweets, they have an affect on your moods! Join a support group at your local health center.
Once you get better, the rest will fall into place, you will enjoy school and feel more comfortable at home too.

The medicine may not be working. Perhaps one of these numbers will serve you best. You need more than a pat answer, trained professionals can answer you better.

Sadly...it's probably because of a problem at home. I don't know what it is, but you should confide in a school counselor. THey can help you deal with whatever it is . And NO...Children's Services, or whatever you call it...will NOT come take you away (do you know how HARD that is to do???).

On the other hand...you might REALLY be depressed! See a counselor/therapist, who can determine if you are. Also: remember: there is is depression due to an event (like loss), which will pass, vs. "clinical" depression, which is due to a chemical imbalance and needs meds.

Either way....see somebody FAST! Exercise, btw, has a good track record of helping even clinical depression.

Good luck, honey!

Maybe you're uncomfortable around your parents. Or maybe you feel more liked at school around your freinds and/or teachers. Either way, you shouldn't feel depressed at home. Talk to your parents about it, or if you can't, a teacher.

Because at school you are around your friends. At home you have homework, and chores...not much fun. When you have chores turn on some music and have fun. Dance around with the vacuum cleaner. It makes things go faster.
