YES! There are ways to stop, but you will need help. Get yourself to a mental health care professional.

Lots of patients who cut themselves are able to stop and a few outgrow the problem..You really need someone to talk to because usually cutters have problems with relating to others.. They do not want anyone too close because they feel threatened by another's control so they pull away from a relationship that is too close but God forbid you should go away completely because then I'll be threatened by rejection and be as sweet to you as I can to get you back. Then I will feel you are too close and push you away again. You make all your friends crazy with all the mixed signals you send. Come here, go away, come BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have trouble crying real tears so you cry your own blood with the help of a sharp object and you feel so good after you cut yourself. You get addicted to the adrenalin rush. Ahhhhh!!!! Relief!!!!! I do not have tension about whether or not I will cut myself again because I just did it an it is all over!!!!!!. Wait a minute!!! What if I do it again????? Oh, no the tension is building up again!!!!!!!! Where is the knife? The problem is that over the years you will need more stimulation for the same relief and that means more and more of your blood. Think your skin will survive? Many people solve their tension in other ways. The cure is a talking cure with people you learn to trust, sometimes in a group with other people who have your problem. Isn't 3 years long enough to try to fix it on your own? Go to a mental health professional. No cash? Go to the emergency room off a larger type hospital and show them your cuts and say you are afraid you might KILL yourself and they will have to help you. You must be a danger to yourself or they do not have to help you. Ask anyone..a preacher, a parent, a social worker, a nurse...It is not like no one has ever heard of this cutting problem...just ask for help...and cooperate with the help even if it feels like it is getting too close to controling you. Be patient and love yourself enough to stop cutting yourself.
Good luck.

I't depends on your lifestyle. Like if your having problems with some kid at school than tell someone your parents, teachers, When you get stressed out do something go running exercising. or if your making bad grades ask for some help. Try to fit in with peaple at school and find a good group not a bad druggy peaple group.

I used to bhe a cutter and yes I have stopped, How I am not sure. I guess I was just sick of the nasty a*s scars that get left behind. I still have many of them and every time I want to cut now days I look at them and think, "They are never going to go away!"

It is very addictive. Some have stopped and help others. It will be something to write about when you are older. See this webpage for advice and a link to a place that holds meetings for it and has free online kit for you.

Yes and very simple just boil a pot of water and stick your hands in it till they severely burned so that way it will be impossible to cut yourself again or you could have a freind get you drunk and repeatily smash your hands with the car door

ME! I started at age 12 and stopped this year at age 14, I used to cut, i stopped using rubber bands, squeezing ice and salt, red pens, cold showers ect. instead. Heres a really good website with tons of ways to quit, (even including recipes for fake blood)all sent in by regular people who were successful!

I cut a few times, and decided that sooner or later, that i would be moving on to cutting my throat, depending on how depressed i was, and i decieded that i did'nt want to die, and i just refrained from cutting whenever i felt like i needed too

It's stress that is causing it. Reduce your stress, I know that sounds like a redundant thing to say, but, it works. Excercise, take up a hobby, take a class, find a good boyfriend.....Once you are less depressed, you wont use it as a coping method anymore.

you can stop. you have to really want to. If you feel the urge to inflict harm, stick your hands in a tub of ice&water. Try not to visit those cutter websites b/c it can do more harm than good.
