A few weeks ago I saw an ad, can't find it now. DSL internet by placing the software in your computer, no box, and requiring call-waiting with phone service. Available in Canada?

I'm not sure if it said DSL, but it was high speed on phone line (not "accelerated").

I highly doubt this is true but some ISP's can offer dial-up with speed accelerator software that can speed up your dial-up to broadband speeds.

No such thing.

A box is always required that will connect from your phone line to a modem or router which will then connect to your computer.
