What a great quote, who are you quoting? It means that no matter the challenge...even if the adversity knocks you down flat on your face...if you are made of great stuff then you will get back up and put one foot in front of the other and just keep going.

I think it is saying that what defines us is how well we learn from our mistakes. I love this quote.

It shows our strength of character. However I would suggest that this is only one facet of our complex personalities - at best then simplistic; at worst inaccurate
