It has been said that women cry to avoid swearing and men swear to avoid crying.
Your problem could be as complex as being bipolar to clinical depression or simple depression. The best way to handle it is to find someone you can trust and talk with them. Try a preacher, or a counselor, if that doesn't help then you need to talk with a professional, and as a last resort, a psychiatrist.
I have suffered from clinical depression for many years. It is very subtle and it robs you of all the joy in life. There are many reasons for you to have depression. If it is an issue in life then talking about it with a friend, or some other person you can trust will help a lot. If it is a more serious problem then you may need professional help. This can vary from a psychologist or a professional counselor to seeing a psychiatrist.
If you have to see a shrink, then still try to find someone to talk with. The shrink isn't going to have time to listen to your problems. Gone are the days of just the doctor and you on a couch, unless you are rich. Most psychiatrists like to prescribe medications. It is a quick solution and they have to see over a dozen patients each day. Don't feel bad if you have to take drugs. The problem isn't with you or your head; it is a problem with your body. Medications try to adjust the levels of neurotransmitters in your brain and bloodstream. If that is the problem then you are no more responsible for it than a person is responsible for being short due to a thyroid condition.
If you need more help along these lines then I can talk with you privately, and without you having to reveal your identity.
I have found the best medicine for depression is distraction. If you get involved in something you really like to do, and have fun while at it, then the depression will soon be forgotten. If you share your trouble then it will make your burdens lighter. I know this only helps a little, but you need to start somewhere. Start small and work up from their.

It can be absolutely normal to just want to cry. A lot of times it can be your minds way of releasing stress. The mind will preserve itself, if that means having a good cry. Please check with a qualified nutritionist/herbalist. These people can test your saliva and in some cases urine. Then they can tell you what areas of your body are more toxic of lack certain vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. My point is that some times being overly toxic of lacking in vitamins etc. can actually cause symptoms like the ones your describing. Also try listening to some very relaxing music, and try meditation, massage, soak in a warm bath or anything else that relaxes you. If you feel any worsening symptoms like thoughts of hurting yourself then please see a Dr. However before taking any Rx's know that if you talk to a qualified herbalist there are many natural choices to choose from. Also teenager years are full of angst just take one day at a time.

There is nothing wrong with you. You may just be in a down period and have to accept it and go through it to get over it. There is nothing wrong with crying for no reason at all. Through crying you are able to release some emotions that may be stored up for whatever reasons. If you are feeling like you need to get to the bottom of this then go to a therapist a couple of times and talk it out. If you can't afford it, there are many colleges that have their counseling students participating in free services for credit. . .but don't beat yourself up. I cry all the time, and it helps me release anything that may be pent up inside. You are actually more normal than you realize. . .

Yes, I have cried for no reason. I think deep down there is a reason. Maybe I hold too much in and then something little gets me crying and I think why am I crying but them realize it was a mountain of things and the last one was the straw that broke the camels back. You will be fine.

If you recognize the need for something more in your life, then congratulations! Why be sad - you should find some more activities that please you, and they will help balance the monotony of the daily grind.
I think it's important that you find a thing that's yours - not just another person that's yours. Asking a mate to fill up all the incompleteness of life is unrealistic and unfair. I don't think you were hinting in this direction I just know a lot of folks rely on others to fill up the gaps.

nothing is wrong with you. i've cried for no reason too, and i'm normally a happy person too. its probably just hormonal imbalances that are causing a slight depression. its normal to go through cycles like that. also as i get older (i'm 19) i get depressed because i realize that i'm not a kid anymore and life isnt what i thought it would be. but everyone feels that.
but its good that you're not suicidal, that means that you probably dont need to see a doctor. but if it starts affecting your ability to function and do the things you need to do in your daily life, they i would recommend going to your doctor and telling him/her whats going on.
sometimes exercising can provide relief and also taking a nap or watching comedy central and hanging out with family and friends make me feel better. dont worry, it'll pass and you'll be fine.

Don't worry, honey. We all have our good days and our bad days. It sounds to me like you are feeling anxious about something, which can lead to feeling depressed. When you sit there and try and figure out what it is that's making you so upset, even if there isn't anything outwardly bothering you, that's anxiety. If it keeps up, go see a doctor. In the meantime, take good care of yourself and treat your symptoms. Call a friend or family member who cheers you up or go see a silly movie. *hugs*

Yes and ususally i attribute it to PMS (Pre menstrual Syndrom) but it varies though, sometimes i get pissed easily too
anyway i understand its not suicidal..just cry and let it all out, cos you'd feel much better after that..iv come to believe that sometimes crying once in a while is a good thing..u release all the secrets and problems in those tears..though they arent solved but at least physically u released those emotions and are ready to start afresh! :)

We're all humans, it can happen that we feel like crying or to be depressed without any specific reason, just hang in there and try to do things you enjoy to cheer you up. If you are indeed a girl, it may also just be hormones/PMS/etc., which really sucks but I guess it's part of being female.

Yes, many times. You could possibly have a chemical inbalance, that was what happened to me. Go to the doctor, it's better to be safe than sorry. I was on meds for about 9 mos and have been off them for over 6 years now.
