An average age for first heat is 9 months old. But, dependent on the breed and size of the dog, it can range anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. Unless you will be breeding her, she should be spayed before she has her first heat. This reduces her chance of mammary cancer by nearly 100%.

It depends a lot on the breed of the dog. Toy/small breeds can go in heat as young as 4 months..Giant breeds as late as 18 months. The average age is 6 months. I recommend making a spay appointment for her asap. It is much better to get them spayed before they ever go in heat.

When female pup reach her first heat she will have a period just like female women. My female had her first at 7 months old, but my moms pup didn't have hers till she was almost a year old. They are alot like us, we all have our periods at different ages.

Could be any time -- usually begins around 6 months. If she makes it to a year without, I'd ask a vet. God bless!
