Wash the blankets first, then into the dryer with a dryer sheet. You'll want to empty the lint trap every 20-30 minutes or so- more often if you have a LOT of fur or you have long hairs.
I've done this with our slipcovers, blankets, and the bed comforter. My 2 kitties shed their fair share, and everything comes out of the dryer furr-free.

If your blankets are washable, wash them according to the washing instructions. They dryer should take quite a bit of the hair off. If they are not washable, use a lint brush. I find the ones that have a sort of velvety surface (they are usually red) that you brush in one direction with work the best. You run your hand against the grain of them to get the hair off the brush. You can also try a slightly damp wash cloth and wipe the surface of the blanket down. The moisture helps attract the hair to the cloth. Rinse the cloth out periodically to help keep the hair content down. Hope this helps!

I have a dry "sponge" that I got at a pet store. It was around $5 or$6 dollars. It picks up cat hair really well from my upholstery. I run it over my cat beds too before I wash them. I am sure it would work as well on a blanket.

your vacuum may not be strong enough. One of the best ways to deal with this is to brush your dog often, preventing most of the problem. For right now try using a broom on your carpet and then vacuuming again, it should help loosen the hair.

There is a product called the Gonzo Pet Hair Lifter Sponge. It works wonders on all fabrics (the couch, clothing, carpet, car upholstery, comforters etc). I "gonzo" the couch and cat beds before I vacuum them.

I use a lint roller to pick up cat hair on everything. I gave my Siamese lady her own warm cuddly polar fleece blanket and she knows that it her blanket. Before I go to bed, I spread her fleece on her side of the bed and she stays off the rest of the bed.

The Scotch-Brite Carpet Touch-Up Roller. It's about $10 at Wal-Mart. Only thing that works for me.
