Listen to them, even when young.

Talk with them, not to them, share your life with them and try to share theirs with them.

Find activities that you both enjoy and do them together.

Love them with all of your heart and make absolutely sure that they know it. Hug them, kiss them, love them.

Finally live a happy active life both with and apart from your kids.

Well, one thing is for certain. Is children are always growing and changing. What might work one week will not work the next.

Being consistent is the key. If it is not ok to jump on the bed today, then the answer is still no next week, year etc. Do not give in because of tears, this just teaches them if they cry, pout, throw a temper tantrum they will get their way. Always put yourself in their shoes, would you like someone treating you the way you are treating them.
The key is discipline (which means knowing and doing what is right even in the absence of authority). Start teaching them what is right and wrong at a young age most babies understand the concept of rules, but remember they will always test their boundaries no matter how old they get. (remember trying to stay out just a few minutes past curfew to see if you could get by with it?)

I think a lot of children today are raised with no manners. I think teaching our children "yes ma'am no ma'am yes sir etc." Will not hurt a thing. I am around children all the time and have noticed hardly any of the kids say please/thank you. I have made my son do these and he is a very well behaved and well mannered boy.

What works for one child may not work for another. Children are individuals, just as adults are. The only thing you need to know is how to love them, nurture them, and protect them. The rest you will learn along with your child.

Spare the rod, spoil the child! A good spanking given with love works wonders when needed.

That is easier to answer if you have a specific problem. There are so many things children do, we really cannot answer without a situation or specific question.

start your children out with a good breakfast every morning...don't give them fruit loops or any other sugar coating cereals ...glucose is important for a child's learning...oatmeal has a lot of glucose in it..chocolate is the worst thing you can give a child...I believe in the saying..you are what you eat..that includes children..

Okay, here's my advice in a nutshell. Give them total unconditional love, be firm, fair and honest with your little ones and never ever criticize your babies. They will love and respect you for a life time if you do this. Oh, and one more thing, don't hit your child for any reason - remember, you're at least 100 lbs heavier than they are!!! Don't teach him to be violent.

Be consistent with disipline and start it very young. Don't be their friend...be their parent. I don't like spanking and time outs and rewarding the positive work better for me. Most of all LOVE THEM and have fun with them!
