Booster seats are for children over 30 pounds at least, most are for 40 pound children. You need to get a convertable carseat and put it in the front facing position in the middle of the backseat of your car. You should take it to your local firestation and they can make sure it is installed correctly.

Depends on what the laws are in your state and what size car you have. Most children are required to be in an actually car seat not a booster until they weigh 50lbs. Convertable car seats cost more but they last longer. CHeck out the selection in your area and you can also as your pediatrician for a recommendation. I wouldnt go cheap with a car seat. It can mean the difference between life and death for your child. Also car seats are obsolete after 5 years so i wouldnt buy used unless its one you know when it was made

Definitely a car seat. A booster seat is not enough to protect your little one year old. 40 lbs for a booster.

I think you should put him/her in a convertible car seat until they are about 5 years old.
