My own smoothie recipe that I developed. It's called "the Spotted Dick Smoothie" because it has bits of blueberry in it (named after the British dessert). If you have a Magic bullet blender, this will work quite nicely. If not, then increase the amount of stuff you put in.

"The Spotted Dick Smoothie"

*A small handful of blueberries
*A small container thingy of applesauce (the stuff in the little plastic cup you put in lunches and stuff)
*A slightly bigger handful of either frozen peaches, frozen mangoes, or a little of both.
*Strawberry lemonade

Put the blueberries at the bottom of the container but not too many because it would darken the color of the smoothie. Add the mango/peach mix, and the applesauce. If you'd like, add a small scoop of whey protein if you are going to work out later. Add the blade thingy and mix...and enjoy :)

SMOOTHIE RECIPE #2

"The Bloody Larry"

*One small handful of blackberries (frozen)
*One small handful of raspberries (also frozen; can substitute for strawberries or blueberries).
*Any kind of juice but cranberry juice or strawberry lemonade works fine.
*A small thingy of applesauce (see other recipe for details).

Combine mixture (add protein or any other vitamin scoops if you'd like) and enjoy! :)

I use frozen fruit, so that I don't have to use ice cubes. Usually a package of mixed berry works great. Orange juice is delicious with berries and sometimes if I have a fresh banana I throw that in. I really like a splash of vanilla soy milk or a small scoop of protein powder.

i love smoothies, and i think they're best without a recipe.

just buy packages of frozen fruit at a regular grocery store. use your favorite fruits, i tend to use strawberries as the main fruit, and add on raspberries, peaches, mangos, and pineapple as i wish. then just use plain orange juice, and blend together.

for a creamier/milkier taste, replace OJ with milk and add bananas as well. you can also use different kinds of fruit juices and Yoplait French Vanilla yogurt is great as well.

experiment with them, and you'll never have the same thing twice! bon appetit!

the basics are fruit, ice, and yougart. and sugar, or whatever else. my fav recipie is involves watermelon, frozen strawberries (no need for ice with this), a touch of lemon juice, and some sugar. branch off of that and experiment with different fruits and such. have fun.
