we argued about stupid stuff and didnt talk for a couple of weeks.(very unusual for us)... We finally made up and talked and it was a little tense but almost back to normal by time we got off the phone. but no "I love you" which we used to say half of the time we spoke. 50 percent of the time......
shortly after this conversation she emailed me and told me that comming in the mail to me was her vacation tickets to the Bahama's so my husband and i could go... i feel that she may be guilty and giving this up for me because of that... (sorry this is so long) anyways, i asked her and she said she is too busy and not enough money to take off work for that long.. so she thought we could use a vacation.....
my concern is that she has been planning this for over a year, and i feel like she could make it but i think she is doing this becasue she is guilty for a stupid fight. what do you think<>?

Yeah, perhaps mom loves you so much that this fight did really hurt her.
Have you ever thought about maybe you and mom taking the cruise together? It would give the two of you some good quality time together and perhaps heal some of these lingering hurts and pains.
Think about it and suggest it to mom and see what happens. Sounds like this would be the perfect time for a "girls outing" time.

Maybe Why don't you offer to pay for the tickets or buy an extra one for her and help with the expenses or just go together. Don't let fights and silly little things get between you and your Mother we only have a little time in this world so we have to make the most of it I learned the hard way. Going away on vacation would be a great memory.

Tell her you can't use the tickets and that you love her for giving them to her but you want her to use them because she deserves a vacation that was a year in the planning.

Don't insult her by refusing to take it. Just talk to her and voice your worry but make sure you do it in a way that shows you accept that she's trying to do something nice for you. I can't imagine doing anything worse than refusing to take it or making her feel bad for giving it.

Ask her, maybe it would make her happy for you to go. I know if me and my mom got in a fight and she did that, she would really want me to go.
