hello i have 1995 monte that the trans went out..A friend of mine swears that a 94 chevy Baretta with the same set up will swap over (trans) but they look the same but with diferrent casting numbers on the cases monte is 748 baretta 737 all the connections appear the same,,the bracket on the drivers side its the same but the holes which are on the case need to be tapped to put the monte bracket on.has anybody done this sort of swap between the 94 -95 models Monte/Barretta? i just not sure any help would be greatly appreciated

Hey Jon Paul both engines and trans are out.I just have to tap the other case which has the holes already for the bracket Drivers side

I did something like this with 2 GM trans once. I had to swap the side pan so i had the hole to mount the trans mount to. Dont go drilling a nd tapping any holes. the side pan gaskets should have a steel core and be reusable.

Both t-60e transmissions Should swap right over I owned a Pontiac grandprix and all of the cars were talking about are W body and come with t60e or supercharged t65 e transmissions slightly better trans that will not interchange.You know the job takes a lift and methiod to hold the engine above your head and dropping the axles and subframe & unbolting the steering rack. Don't you? Just to unbolt the transmission. Good Luck
