Probably not. I'll take the good stuff from my upbringing and pass it on to my kids, but I'll keep as much of the bad stuff out as I can.

My hope is to do better for my child than my parents did for me. Which means that I will likely end up teaching my child some of the things that were taught to me. But I will try to make sure that the things I felt I didn't like about my child hood that I would not pass those on.

No way. in the case of my dad he was an alcoholic until I was 16; my earliest childhood was of going bar to bar trying to find him. Sometimes we found him, sometimes we didn't. Most of the time it was better not finding him, because it was like the mouth of hell opened up in our house when he finally got home.Thankfully, he met Christ when I was 16, and all that changed; but I wasn't able to appreciate him meeting the Lord until I was 19, and left home.

Heck no My parents abandoned me to a Grandparent that was barley cable of taking care of me but did any way love her heart but I think that I was better off. I love my little girl and I would never give her up.

i know frompersonal experience that you learn from your parents mistakes and i dont think I'll ever treat my daughter the way my mom treated me. I know for a fact that I wont put her through that.

I already raised mine , and I did do a lot of similar rearing . the only thing I didn't do was spankings . I always thought that was wrong . I tried to instill good morals & manners , and respect for others . My kids both turned out to be good well balanced adults .

ABSOLUTELY! MY PARENTS MADE SURE THAT I HAD ALL THE NECESSITIES IN LIFE AND THAT I NEVER WANTED FOR ANYTHING. SOME CALL IT SPOILED, I BEG TO DIFFER. SPOILED IN MY OPINION IS WHEN A PERSON WILL GO TO ANY AND EVERY EXTREME TO GET WHATEVER AND WHOEVER(FOR THAT MATTER) THEY WANT AND THEY DON'T CARE HOW THEY GET IT OR WHO THEY HURT GETTING IT. THEY ALSO DO NOT KNOW OR UNDERSTAND RESPONSIBILITY. ALL THEY KNOW IS THEY WANT IT.

MY PARENTS TAUGHT ME RESPONSIBILITY AS WELL AS THE FACT THAT $ DOESN'T GROW ON TREES AND YOU HAVE TO WORK HARD FOR THE THINGS THAT YOU WANT IN LIFE. I WOULD PROBABLY BE A LITTLE MORE LENIENT AS FAR AS LETTING THEM GO OUT AND CURFEW TIMES, BUT OTHER THAN THAT...YEP!

Pretty much the same with some changes.

All I am today I owe to my parents, and they didn't do THAT bad a job. So, I'll just update the style.

I mostly would. SOme small changes though. I think they did a good job. They were kind and loving and tried their best to meet our needs, even putting their own needs second. What more could anyone ask or expect.
