Sadly, the score is different between agencies and they have conflicting criteria to set a a score. Equifax and Experian have mine at 813 and 819 respectively, but TransUnion has me at 774 because I don't have enough premium credit cards (I have two Visas) and I have too many inquiries (I have two). I have higher scores with the others because I don't have too much revolving credit nor do I have a lot of inquiries. So no matter what I do, one of them will ding me for it.

Scores range from 450 to 850, so 650 would be the average and is considered good, but depending on who you ask, your mileage may vary.

a fair score would be something in the 600's. Good would be 680+. There are 3 agencies which report fico scores, and lenders usually look at whatever the middle score is. The scores do differ from bureaus, not sure why, but i've seen 50 point spreads between them. When it happens, Its usually 2 scores around the same and one pretty different.

680 is considered good, There's really no different between the three. It's jsut that some people chose one or two and some companies may pull your credit from all three. Every time your credit is pull/ran your score goes down. There's a hard hit which is like mortgage companies pulling it or auto companies. Those are the ones that really hurt your scores. Then theres the soft hit where you pull your credit or a credit card company, etc pulls it.

Yes, your scores will all be different with each agency.. mine has a huge span between one and the other ... it can be like 580 with one, 620 with another 650 with the other. Same info basically. Mine is around 624 and is considered "fair"

350 is the lowest. 850 is the highest. My guess is that good would be somewhere around 650-700+

Lots of good info at myfico.com and I'd recommend the Suze Orman FICO Kit ... it's an excellent resource

Sometimes the definition varies depending on what the score is being used for and the specific negative credit ratings. Overall, a score of 660-680 is fair, above 680 is good and above 720 is excellent, in my experience. The entity requesting the credit score often queries all three Experian, TranUnion and Equifax and they take the middle score as your score.

A fair credit score, that I work with most lenders is 600-620, a good credit score would be 640.

Some lenders make the good score from 680-700. Depends on who you are going through for a loan and what the companies standards are.

And yes, there can be a difference is your score with all 3 credit bureaus. I have noticed before, on my credit report that some of my loans/credit cards did not get reported to all 3. Some companies run background check with all 3 and sometimes just 1 or 2 of them.

I am a Mortgage Broker, and for my clients a 640 credit score or higher I get them better rates. What I look for and the lenders that I work with is what is their mid-score; the middle credit score between all 3 bureaus.

Remember, that every time you have someone run a credit check; ex: credit card app, car loan, even job, etc. your score will go down about 5-20 points. Most banks and companies will only use credit reports for up to 60-90 days.
