other men say it is a friendship ring and he is saying that to lead me on. Do you think he is for real? or is he just being a player?
I am used to white diamonds as engagement rings.

I'd say, unless he says "Will You Marry Me" when he gives it to you, it is a Promise Ring. More than a friendship ring, but less than an engagement ring.

i got my girlfriend a huge rare black diamond. I did this because I know gewelery and I know a black diamond is worth way more than a clear one. But regardless of this, engaged is engaged. he asked you to be his wife, you accepted the ring and said yes, that is the important part, not the color of the stone.

If he asked you to marry him when he gave it to you, then you are engaged. If he said, I want you to have this as a token of my love for you, it is a promise ring. (he promises that one day you will get engaged) If he gave it to you and said I want you to have this, because you are so special to me. It is at best a friendship ring. If he gave it to you and said, I couldn't find anyone else willing to take this cheap piece of yellow stone crap, then it is merely a gift.

Unless he proposed to you and asked you to marry him then it's not an engagement ring.

Well, um, did he propose or just give you a ring. If he didn't propose, then you should know that you are not engaged. If he did propose, then you would definitely know that you are engaged. You should also know where your relationship stands.

Did he ask you to marry him when he gave you the ring? If not, then it was just a nice gift.

WELL, THESE DAYS, IT'S REALLY POPULAR TO HAVE COLORED STONES (I WANT ONE) BECAUSE IT'S VERY ORIGINAL. STOP LISTENING TO EVERYBODY ELSE AND KEEP THEM OUT OF YOUR BUSINESS. AT THIS RATE, YOU'LL NEVER BE MARRIED BECAUSE YOU HAVE TOO MANY PEOPLE GIVING YOU THEIR OPINION ABOUT YOUR SITUATION...AND DID HE PROPOSE TO YOU WHEN HE GAVE YOU THE RING? IF NOT, THEN YOU'RE NOT ENGAGED SWEETUMS!

He was probably at a pawn shop one day pawning some of your stuff and saw the ring and thought "Hey maybe this will shut her up?" Please tell me you gave some sex or at least a ********. I mean he didn't have to get you anything. Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
