i mean all they do when they get there is speak spanish everywhere they go. it really hurts the american culture that the school had long before the illegals came to steal their right to use it. they dont even have to pay taxes to go there so they shouldnt be able to anyways. and i know some people just say ohhhh its not a problem at all, they can fit in with everyone else...well i actually know what im talking about because i am a high school student and they don't fit in. everybody wonders why theyre there in the first place. does anyone agree that they should probably just go back to mexico if they wanna act like theyre still in mexico so much, and stop using our public services made for legal citizens?

i disagree with the person who said public schools shouldnt exist because they would be great if the illegals werent wrecking them...and to the person who said we should pay to teach them english...we do and it doesnt work--they still speak spanish everywhere they go.

makingthisup, it may seem wrong to punish the child for what theyre parent did but if theyre parent didnt do it they probably would when they get older. you have to look at the state of public schools and our country to make the right decision on this one.

I feel that if you are not a legal citizen or have a legal right to be here, and i don't feel that illegal woman who come here and have their babies that their babies should be considered citizens either, however if not legal then they should not be allowed to use public services if they want to pay for private school OK but no freebies.

This is the biggest impact in areas where illegals concentrate because not only are they draining education funds they are degrading services and impacting our own children's future through education.

Taxes aren't the main point. People who think it is about taxes say 'well legalize them and they will pay taxes and all will be well.' However, poor people don't pay for their own education and health care services, their taxes are too low. We redistribute wealth to pay for it for them. So long as it is our own poor and those we invite, that is ok. When others come above amounts we allow and not only steal the funding but ruin the schools for our own children, that is not tolerable.

I think it would take a major legal change which I don't see happening when some people are still saying they should even get discretionary rather than mandatory benefits. However, I think that if their children wouldn't be educated for free, a benefit those at least from Mexico do NOT get at home, many many fewer would come.

So yes, I think they should not be given education. It is not a matter of 'well they are here now', it is a matter of WHY they are here, to begin with.

Dar is correct. We are losing so much in education due mostly to a mass coming in illegally that we can not cover the expense. Even on Teacher's chat rooms they will tell this. I don't believe anyone who is here illegally should be allowed our services. But the children are not at fault.
This is one of the problems that needs to be taken care of. But I don't see any of the groups addressing it. If they don't take care of the problems-there is no way America will accept Amnesty. Pity-so many will be hurt because their Leaders will not address the problems.

No. Deport them. That is the illegals.

However being different is not a crime and first generation Legal immigrants have always pretty much lived the same way as they did in the "old country" and spoke the same languages, eat the same foods etc... It is their children and the third generation that becomes Americanized.

All three generations "fit in". It is the American way. Its the great American melting pot!

This is kind of a double edged sword for the school systems and the public in general. They should be deported, but they will be right back, #2 if we dont educate them, They will not be able to become self sufficient so the public will have to support them. This is a lose lose proposition
What needs to happen is to control the borders so they cant come back, then deport them!

THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED.

However, for the Spanish thing, that's a different story. In my elementary school they had Spanish as a first language class for kids who were learning to speak English. its a process it takes a while.

And might I add, this was a PRIVATE school, not public. None of these kids or their parents were illegal

Illegals should not have access to our public schools, or any other public service and should be deported. Illegal means illegal. We need to make sure we elect government representatives who will enforce the laws and help reduce the burden on the taxpayers so our money can be spent on legal citizens.

Ok, most people know I want the illegals to be out of the US,

But since they are here and since the US is not getting rid of them. no we have a responsiblity to send them to school.

We just need to raise everyones taxes to pay for speical spanish teachers and more class rooms.

Of course when you have to pay that higher tax bill, even the liberals may decide to send them back.

remebmer it is not the kids fault, many are born in the US and are actually US citizens. You just can't harm the kids for the crimes of the parents.

God I feel so liberal, I need to go to confession or something

I guess the inner mother-teacher in me says you don't punish children no matter what you think of their parents. The children are innocent. So, yes, if they're here you need to educate them and feed them and whatever else.
