Are you sure it is eczema... Not psoriasis?
It usually is psoriasis that is on the scalp.
If it is eczema then I would consider going to the Dermatologist to get Elidel, or a simliar treatment.

Eczema is a complicated condtition: try a broad spectrum essential fatty acid supplement or Flaxseed oil. If that doesn't help, read: Let's Get Well by Adelle Davis; or Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine (Murray & Pizzorno) and/or Prescription For Natural Cures (Balch & Stengler) - all have good chapters on eczema and skin problems. Your local health food store may have a copy they will let you look at. Chek ur library, or go to Alibris.com to order a copy at discount prices.

I highly recommend using Dr Wheatgrass Recovery Cream or Spray. It's cream/spray derived from organically grown wheatgrass. These products work wonders and is very effective. Dr. Reynolds invented the product and has been successfully treating this patients since 1995 with these products. As far as allergic reactions go, this product is made from wheatgrass, the same thing that bread is made of. It's also gluten free. I believe it's approved for people of all ages (from infants to adults) because it's a natural product. You can check out his website for more information and testimonial.

I too have a form of exzema on my scalp. It is called Seborrhic Dermatitis when it effects the scalp. The only thing that helps me is a shampoo or liquid ointment that contains steroids in some way or form. Some of the meds I've used are Betamethasone (liquid) and Fluocinalone Shampoo (contains steroids). I needed a prescribtion for both.

I hope your wife gets relief real soon. It can be very painful to the touch. Good luck!

I read recently in a health column in my local newspaper that said Vick`s vapor rub has helped people with this condition. Very inexpensive treatment with no side affects. It`s worth a try.
