Yes, you could make lots more money with a college degree if you pick the right profession. However, my husband does not have a degree and he makes more money than me. I chose to be a teacher.

Your father is encouraging you to get an education. It's not a bad thing. If I were selecting someone for a management job for example, I would chose the applicant with some college or a degree. It shows self discipline and a desire to learn and achieve among other things. It really depends on the person, the degree and the job but someone with a degree yes, studies show that they are generally more apt to make more money in their chosen career over someone in the same career with no educational background.

As a general rule people that go to college make a lot more money that people that don't. It is truly nice of your father to sacrifice things to make sure you get a chance he never had.

But don't take the money and waste the chance. If you are going to go to college make him proud and his money well spent. It is a great opportunity for you, one I wish I had very much and I can see your dad really wants you to have the best shot at life that you can.

You should be happy he loves you so much and return the love by really putting all you have into college and learning so that you can find a great career and a wonderful life.

There is no guarantee that you will make more money than someone that doesn't have a college degree, but it greatly increases your chances of the aforesaid. Some people get lucky and come up with some business or some angle on existing businesses and make a boat load from it. They are just naturally business savvy people. But most of them got lucky. But if you have a college degree, you won't be relying on luck, but your knowledge in whatever degree you have. I don't know about you, but I'm not one that likes to leave things to luck. Hope I helped!
Best of luck to you.

College degrees will get you into better jobs, thus more money. I definitely recommend attending college after high school. Money problems keeping you from going to a big college? Try a community college. They're very cheap, and they can provide classes for you to learn how to work in certain jobs. Good luck!

Go to college it will not guarantee that you are going to be successful. It will only make your chances bigger in this world. Because I went to College in a different country, I almost always got better paycheck them other people in the same position that I had in jobs that had nothing to do with my degree. It does help you being a better professional in any area you choose. Makes you smarter and really changes your personal life and environment. If you go to College you will be able to tell the difference. Good Luck!!!

Is your dad trying to put you on a guilt trip or something? Whose fault is it that he didn't go to college? I know a lot of people who didn't go to college who make much more money that I do and I went to college! It depends on what you want to do. Obviously, if your goal is to have a job that requires a degree, then you'll have to get one.

of course! collage degrees are proof of inteligence! and if a buisness obtains someone with a high state of inteligence then they can make more progress and pay you well because you have more expierience, you have more knowledge and therefore are most capable of producing progress! if the company hires you they consider having you working for them an investment! like if they pay you 225 a day and because of your work you earned them 3000 bucks by the end of the week, they can obviously afford to give you your fair cut, trust me the longer you invest your time in collage the longer that hefty sum of dollars will invest IT'S time in YOUR wallet/purse!

On average, yes. In fact, research suggests that every college class you take will increase your income somewhat, even if you never graduate.

Earn the money yourself and fix up the basement. Higher education may help you earn more money, but seriously think that various tech schools can teach you more readily usable careers.
