I agree. This is why I don't have a religion (no offense to those who do). Believe in what you believe, see what you see not what others want you to see, and live life to the fullest you don't have to waste it worshipping (again no offense).
For me, God doesn't exist. The world was created by the Big Bang, life was created by the nuclear fusion of hydrogen atoms, our fate lies within ourselves and what we do everyday, and religion is a series of myths/stories to explain how the world came to be (so people have a better understanding of this world)and give people hope. Some things about this world might never be solved, so people rely on God and religion to explain these happenings. Religion causes much damage to our world (wars, arguments, pain, etc) and people start to become less accepting of others. For those who are in denial (no offense again), these are my thoughts and I am just being realistic.
If god was soooo great of a person, why would he send us to the underworld if we do not believe in him. Sounds like a bunch of threats the corrupted church created to keep people in their religion.

The question on whether you should believe in Any religion that has no proof? The answer is easy, "You shouldn't!" As to whether to Accept or Reject the Bible.....well that is another story. The Scriptures are easy to define we are called to Either accept the Bible in its entirety as God's Word or Reject it! 2 Tim. 3:16-17. A true disciple of Christ has to Study dilligently 2Tim. 2:15. The Old Testament (Old Law) was to show us our sin and how we can't live without The Creator. The New Testament Shows what The Creator did to Purchase us back, thus showing His profound Love for us. What humans have failed to see is that we tend to have a Very unhealthy Attitude of what Love is! Jn. 3:16 Shows us the Perfect Love that we need to have. 1 Cor. 13: 1-13. And one of the final things he told his disciples Jn. 13:34-35. Now compare that with other Religions out there. Check out the Focus. Most are gods that through the years has tons of worshipers, but they have remained remarkably Silent on how we should live. Next you will find they follow doctrines and teachings of a man. Well, I guess if you feel you need to follow something might as well follow after a dead guy. And IF Christ just Died upon the cross, then what Paul wrote in 1 Cor. 12-18. A Believer on Christ would indeed be a "Very Sad Person". And not only that but the 12 Apostles would be the biggest liars upon the earth. And Christ teachings Would totally be in vain. Now check with Historical accounts. What it comes down to is whether You will or wont believe. But Einstein, Sir Isaac Newton, our forefathers that built this nation believed In the Bible. And if you want a modern day atheist that Believes in the Bible read some of his history and how he became a Christian and why. Never forget to question, search out, but listen to what lies inside you. Acts 17:10-15. Happy hunting.

That is totally your choice. We tell you that about Hell and Jesus being our savior because that is what Scripture tells us, and we believe it. We are aware that they were written by men, but we believe it to be inspired by God.
I understand it can be hard to swallow. But think of this for just a moment. Let say it is year 500 A.D. and someone describes for you that one day in the future there will be pictures and sounds that come to us in little boxes to entertain us. Or that we can be connected to anywhere in the world by a tiny cord - or any number of modern day things we take for granted.
You, most likely would think the person telling the tale was nuts. I use this example only to show that sometimes with our current level of understanding, things seem impossible--but they really aren't.
And holyflusher, do you live a good life, make the world a better place, are you kind - to everyone, even those people whose beliefs you don't hold to. Is being the "holyflusher" showing respect or kindness to people of faith. You may not agree with my beliefs and I am truly okay with that, but please be nice, and kind...

because u have to have faith in jesus christ to go to heaven , u don't get to heaven by your works , u get to heaven by accepting jesus as your saviour. there is alot of proof that there is a god and his son jesus. for instance if u read the bible tell me how did the ppl that wrote the bible hundreds of years ago know what is happening in the world today.u have to have your own way of believing where we came from and if u don't believe in jesus , then u must believe in evolution , because something had to make us, here is the thing, if u don't believe in god because u can't hear, feel, touch, see, smell him then u can say the same thing about evolution, sure there are fossils and stuff, just like there is the bible. but other than that noone has EVER seen evolution happen before their own eyes but ppl are still passionate about it just as christians and like religions are passionate about God. so u can either believe in god and know where u are going or not believe in god and wonder if your making a mistake for the rest of your life, i think i want to be safe than sorry.
what i have noticed is most ppl that has trouble with believing god is the ones that keep posting these sort of questions, that means that they are really starting to question how they believe. if anyone wants to email me with questions on this very subject, i do love to talk about it, ginagirl72376@yahoo.com

“The 66 books of the Bible were written on three continents? In three languages. By about 40 different people (kings, shepherds, fishermen, priests, and a physician). Over a period of about 1500 years. On the most controversial subjects. By people who in most cases had never met. By authors whose education and background varied greatly. Yet all 66 books maintain harmony with each other…as if written by one great mind. And indeed it was.” 2 Peter 1 verse 21 “Holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy spirit” Critics of the Bible have tried to say that certain “historical statements” in the Bible are not accurate but archaeologists have uncovered many discoveries that have proven the history of the Bible as accurate. The principles and the prophecies of the old testament as well as its history holds for us today as much relevance as it did for the Israelites in Jesus day and it blends perfectly with the new testament.

I was also unsure, doubtful and a sceptic about everything that you are saying.... please read this to find the truth.
You are correct on several points, and you seem to be a good person over all and that is wonderful! Without giving you a load of scriptures and alot 'blah-blah blah' I am going to challenge your quest. You are correct in wanting proof and you will not believe where to find it.....in you. The proof and the truth will be discovered by your own spirit, and willingness to find the truth will be your fuel to ignite your spiritual 'not religious fire'.
Religion actually has little to do with your quest for proof and truth, relationship has everything to do with it. When I say relationship I mean your personal knowledge and understanding about Christ. Not your family's, your friend's or not a local church. Nothing or no one can prepare you for this journey but God...and once you find the truth....you will truly be free.!
My challenge to you is:
STEP 1- free your mind and heart about any everything that you have thought, been taught, or believed in the past about God, Jesus, religion and/or regilious people. It's not easy but it is necessary. This way you will go into this experience with a pure open heart and mind.
STEP 2 - even if you have never prayed to God before... sincerely ask him to reveal the truth, and himself to you that you may know him and his son in a personal way... for the next seven (7) days (with failing) and watch what God does. Know this....the same God that gave you the desire to want to know the truth is the same God will present it to you.
STEP 3 - As for heaven v/s hell....Jesus v/s good deeds.... etc. Those truths will be revealed as you pursue God. So i will give you this one scripture Matthew 6:33.."Seek first the Kingdom of God and all other things will be given(added) to you."
*******************CONCLUSION**************************
No matter what you get out of this quest....you should surely take one thing with you forever....no matter what you conclude...no matter what you come up with.....always know that God {the creator of heaven and earth, the creator of life, the creator of all that is good}....loves you so much that he allowed you to live to know the truth! The very air you breathe belongs to him and because he loves you so very much he will allow you to find and know the truth to make the good life a better life... to make your good deeds, better deeds...to take your giving and helping to the highest level...only God can do that!
****WHY?? because no matter what you have said or done He is waiting for you.... and He believes in you....and He really does love and care for you...why??? because you are his special and unique creation....all he sees is your wonderful future not your past !***** Wow! who else but God can be that awesome!!!!
************BE BLESSED IN YOUR QUEST***********

No one can make you believe in Jesus or the Bible. If you think about it, there are only theories about how the Earth came into existence and have not been proved to this day. Think about this, who made the first cell? So, the scientific theory does not make sense either. To believe in God, you just have to go on blind faith in the beginning and He will reveal Himself to you later. When He does reveal Himself to you, you will know without a doubt that He does exist. Of course, we all have free will and can choose how we believe and live our lives. Good luck!

The only true proof in my opinion, is personal experience. Any spiritual path worth living is learned by living life. Nobody can have a monopoly on the truth. Religion was created to control the masses, and is still doing so today. It is also based on fear of the unknown and trying to place a cap on the universe.

Welcome to atheism. :-) Christianity and most religions out there teach people to love, care, and respect one another, but, when fellow Christians are not willing to accept you for the person you are (in this case I'm guessing you're an atheist or maybe even agnostic) and are damning you to hell just because you don't accept "their" Savior, then, they really are nothing more than hypocrites. Instead of forcibly trying to install their beliefs onto someone, they should just accept people as they are. Good people aren't limited to just one group or specific religion. They are everywhere.

I believe you are doing the right things and you will be judged on those things by a higher power when you die. I do believe in Jesus, but as for the whole Bible thing I have my doubts. You have to follow your OWN path. And at the end of the day only YOU have to live with the decisions you make.
