Hi Elliot...cats are placental mammals therefore they do have umbilical cords similar to humans. Instead of having a "belly button" they do have umbilical scars which are easliy visible when their abdomens are shaved. This area is often pale in color, flat, and hairless. Typically is about a half to whole centimeter in size. It is often used as an anatomical landmark when spay incisions are made. Although the area is not a navel in the human sense, it is the feline equivalant. The "belly button" in animals is more properly known as the umbilicus.

Any animal that is attached to it's mother via an umbilical cord during pregnancy has a belly button. It might not be as prominent as a human's, but it's there. When my dog was a puppy, it was really noticeable, but now that he's grown, I can't find it anymore!

of course they do, they are mammals! all mammals have bellybuttons because all mammals were once attached to their moms with the umblical cord. the only thing is that on furry mammals like cats you can't see them because they are covered by hair. look at a great ape or a whale and you will see their belly buttons quite clearly.

Yes, they do. All mammals have it. I can still remember when my previous cat gave birth for the 1st time, it was my mother who cut the umbilical cord... Maybe you just can't see it coz it is buried under its fur...
