People always say I'm lucky to be alive, and I wondered why I was so "lucky". Then people would say I was still alive through all my near fatal accidents because God wanted me to be here. Well, I can't argue that, but, I used to think that they were telling me that this life was an enjoyment of some kind and that I ought to be happy because God kept me here, and let me live. Then I look around me and wonder what's so great about being here, and then I worry that maybe the "after-life" may not be so great. And then, if I'm going to heaven, it's supposed to be MUCH greater. So, why DOES God keep me here. Am I supposed to do something yet that I haven't done so far? I sure wish He'd get me in that direction because I sure don't seem to be much better Christian than at other times of my life when I called myself a Christian. In the end, however, I hope and pray that He'll get what He wants from me before He brings me to the Judgement Seat, and that way I won't have to do without Him for all the rest of forever. God Bless you.

I know in my heart I am truly blessed and have had many near death experiences , too many to be explained away as random circumstance which incidentally I never felt the need to find an explanation , when I've been that close the feeling is inescapable and you know whose hands your in absolutely . You reach a point at which fear and pain disappear and it is then God has taken you by the hand. Thus far I've awoken and recovered but I know that one day my journey will continue in his presence and the pain and fear will be gone forever.

Yes, I am truly blessed to be alive, at the hands of God. My Mother had taken a bad fall off of Our front steps on the way to her appointment, about Me, when She was almost eight months along. She started labor on the first day of the ninth month. There were complications. I was born one month early, lungs not fully developed. She had problems after the delivery. My Dad got the news that We were both in jeopardy. My Mom in more danger than Myself. The placenta would not deliver, and had to be removed by the Doctors. My Mother said the Anesthesiologist who was standing at the head of the table, just bent down over Her and said not to worry, We will take care of You. He was trying to block Her view of what was about to happen. There was a horrible scene that followed. The risk of infection could have ended Her life. She awoke to My Dad, a strong, fearless type, crying quietly over Her. She laughs now and says She knew then that She was a goner. Over 22 hours of labor, and five different Doctors, (My Mom's was out of town), and I was here. During My Mother's labor, a Woman and Her Child were both lost. When My Dad came out to tell the Family of what had transpired, He was covered in blood. My Grandmother fainted. But God was there with all of us, and He alone, pulled us through. So yes I am fortunate to be here. And it IS because of God.
God Bless

Myself I feel very blessed to be alive still, I am a grandmother and I lost a brother when he was a teen ager, so I count every day as a blessing even though I know he is in a better place. I feel there is a purpose for each of us to be here, the Lord knows what he is doing.

Yes I think I am blessed for many reasons. I think I am blessed because I was born a twin and my twin didn't survive. I am lucky because bad things have happened in my life and I have pulled through. I got a lot of poor health issues but I am still here. I am in Jesus' hands cause He is my Savior. Also, as well as Jesus there is my girlfriend. ;-)

I think I am very lucky to be alive. I've had several close calls, and medical problems that would have meant certain death just a mere 50 years ago.

Nah.
Head on collision with a deisel truck in 1979.
Motorcycle wreck in 1986. They told me I'd never walk again.
Motorcycle wreck in 1989. They told me I'd never walk again again.
I've fallen while rock climbing,
Fallen while spelunking.
Pulled under by currents while white-water rafting (no preserver)
Spotted sharks nearby while surfing.
I've broken my back in five places, femur lengthwise, foot, shoulder, wrists and ribs.
Not lucky. God has proven he exists and for some unfathomable reason, he loves me.
Or I got a helluva guardian angel.

Definitely blessed and in God's hands or I would be dead. I have survived 8 cancers, 3 surgeries, chemotherapy and hundreds of rad(radiation) treatments and carried healthy twins full term while I had cancer.
