Ah, nostalgia! Those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end. The Mini is now made by Bavarian Motor Works and what VW like to call the new Beetle (a bit like New Labour) has absolutely nothing to do with the original Beetle, in fact I think even Mexico have stopped making them.
If you're thinking of buying a vintage car then the Beetle soft top has more appeal than the Mini - and more top to be soft! As soft tops go, the Citroën 2/4 Chevaux beats them both.

I would go soft top mini. The association with BMW carries much more credibility than the beetle.

Mini if you are male as you would look stupid in a beetle cabrio! Not meaning to be sexist but the beetle does come with its own wee vase on the dash!

Soft top mini, I can't beleive you need to ask!!!

P.S. Bodieann, the mini is British, the beetle is the German car!!!

they are both good cars both german make, a beetle is realy a golf only with a different shell, same as a mini, its a polo with different shell, but i would go for mini ,but if you need space you need a beetle bigger boot n that.

Beetle - without a doubt!
My first car was an orange beetle, I still miss it.

None, they are expensive and in the case of the VW, very expensive to maintain and with a lot of problems. I don't know about the reliability of the Mini.
I would buy a Chryler sebring or PT Cruiser, Mazda, Pontiac Solstice... better cars all them and not so expensive.

Depends on you're personal taste, I prefer beetles so cute they have happy faces, and if you're like me and fairly tall a mini is bloody useless, you end up with you're knees up around you're ears...
ttfn ;o)
