You have to get your facts straight before you go posing questions like this.
Christians don't have to follow the ten commandments because there were no Christians in the old testament. Jesus only appears in the new testament and the rules he is supposed to have set are the ones Christians have the obligation to heed.
I will happily rip apart Christians who contradict themselves within the context of their own religion. Criticise them for quoting the things as their own wisdom and philosophy if you want. That shows their ignorance of their own religion. But that's not a good example.
sorry.

I didn't answer your first post, because I figured everyone else would jump on it.
I know I don't follow ever one of the 10 commandments.
I've stolen from God, when I don't tithe like I should.
I've made idols out of money, job performance, schoolwork. These all became gods for a time.
I'm sure I've said GD it at least once or twice.
There are some weeks that I work 7 days straight, never taking any time out for worship.
I was an incorragable teenager, & gave Mom & Dad a really hard time. Still do once in awhile.
I've never intentionally killed anyone.
I've never been married, so I haven't physically committed adultry. But I have lusted with my eyes MANY times, not knowing whether the man was married or not.
I've lied about people just to get ahead, in business & in life.
I've jealously desired more things of more people than I can accurately count.
Really, I'd stink as an Orthodox Jew. Thankfully, all that's been taken care of.
Hard as I try to give up & give in to the Holy Spirit, it just doesn't work that way sometimes. I'm glad I can lay all my infirmities at my Saviour's feet.
As far as your other thing, I didn't put Jesus before God. He put Himself with God. "I and the Father are One." His words, not mine.
Further, someone said it would be impossible to maintain adherence to all 10, all the time. I have to agree.
Good thing we're saved by Grace & not works, so no man can boast.

The ten commandments were given in the first testiment as part of the first covenant with God. In the second testiment (when Jesus is alive) this is what is said (Mark 12:28-32) :
28 Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, percieving that he had answered them well, asked Him, "which is the first commandment of all?" 29 Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is: 'the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 and your shall love the Lord with all your heart, with all your sould, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment. 31 And the second, like it, is this 'You shall love your neighbour as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these"
Jesus never said to love him more than his father, our father...not all Christians believe Jesus was one being with God (Jehovah's Witnesses for example), but in the long run, whether Jesus was God, or whether Jesus was just God's son is irrealivant to how much we should love our Lord.
Also some Christians justify that Jesus was God with this passage (John 1:1-5):
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines inthe darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
In the Christian faith, Jesus is often referred to as the Word.
Anyway I suggest you read up a little more for more answers, and if your truely serious about learning something, go to some pasters/ ministers (answers dot com has too many athiests who will tell you anything about christians, even if they know nothing about why they believe certain things.)
Hope this helps!

Okay, Jesus is God, you know, the whole trinity thing. The ten commandments, technically, are in the old testament, so I don't know why everybody goes on and on about them in regards to christianity because we don't follow any other laws. Look at the new testament. Many ideas are echoed. Yes, it is impossible for somebody to do all of those things all of the time, because we have an imperfect nature after the fall of Adam and no amount of willpower can change that. God will forgive you if you only ask. You can't possibly follow every commandment every second. I don't know what you mean about commandment two, but God punishes those who sin all the time and it is their basic nature, but those who try to follow he loves.

Jesus is the almighty Rev 1:8. Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of lords Rev 19:16. Jesus is God manifest in the flesh ITim 3:16.
Jesus is the Word made flesh john 1:14. These scriptures all say Jesus is God. The only christians who would have a problem with that are the ones who put him second place in the Godhead of a fictional trinity.

I don't call Jesus God, I know that God is Jesus's Father. And I try with all my might to follow the 10 commandments and many other things that are the good works, and those times when I fall short, I am very grateful for Jesus giving his life and I try not to make the same mistake over again.

First of all that is a set of rules that was passed down to Moses, 2ND when Jesus came to earth he done away with the law. Yes we should follow the 10 commandments, But it is just like also we don't take lambs to sacrifice any more because Jesus is and was the only sacrificial lamb. Jesus and God are one and the same that is why i call him God

Hey I agree with you, Jesus is the son of God, Just as peter said it and Jesus said it wasn't flesh that told you but the Spirit of God. Jesus was never to be worshiped He glorified God the Father when he healed people. Also the ten commandments completely agree with you but Jesus also said that in Matthew 5:19 -"Who ever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." THey dont follow the ten commandments because Paul said that were not under the law anymore, but also said we shall not void the law (romans 3:31)

Because He is God, and if you don't believe that then you must conclude that He was the worst person to have ever walked the face of this earth because He claimed to be God and if He wasn't then He was blasphemous. And god will forgive sinners that's what Jesus death on the cross was all about John 3:16 & 17

If someone says they do not follow the 10 commandments they are wrong. what God said is right now is always right. what HE says he hates in the Old Testament he hates in the new.
Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Their is only one God, his name is Jesus, and the Christ was the body he made to come to earth HIMSELF. GOD is a spirit and before Christ was born had NO body.
John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
Jesus was God manifest in the flesh
