They are from the school of Heron of Alexandria. Using magic tricks and bending the rules of science and illusion to dupe un intelligent people who by generational religious belief systems never actually know what they themselves believe because they have never actually taken the time to question themselves, their beliefs or those they trust as experts on God.
They are like Heron's coin operated Holy water dispensers, or counter balanced scales. All that crap they do is dangerous and completely immoral and just wrong! and like Heron... They know exactly what they are doing to people and why!
I actually knew a man who was told by a preacher to chew on bread to replace a lost filling because he could not afford the dentist... A miracle would happen if he gave this preacher money
and went home and chewed on some bread. and he gave him the money (that he COULD have used as a downpayment of the dental work) and ended up with an infection and an abcess that when he went back to ask why... They said "he wasn't faithfull." He wasn't believing, he doubted. and God doesn't perform miracles where their is doubt." TRUE STORY!
I can't wait for God to kick their butts and then say "Depart from me I never knew you." BENNY HINN!

Is this a trick question... if they are lecherous and avaricious, then why would they be good. There are some televangelists who are upstanding and having integrity. It's not fair to judge them all by the few who give Christianity a bad name.
Some think that all evangelists are bad just because of the visual impact those on Tv have. My husband and I traveled for 10 years as evangelists, going to small towns and churches across America. It was not lucrative, in fact, we barely made a living after our expenses came out of it. We could never afford health insurance or car insurance. We slept in every conceivable place...some nice, and some not so nice... So there is always another side of the story. Today we are pastors. Most evanglists I know are genuine down to earth people who just love Jesus and other people and are there to help.

It depends upon who you are talking about. I certainly don't think all christian teachers on TV are bad. Some are quite good. The problem is that if you know what the bible teaches you'll see that a whole lot of those so-called televangelists are heretics. They deny the fundemental doctrines of the christian faith. I agree, a lot of those same heretics are also scam artists.

They are very good at what they do. Raising money.
There are still a few with genuine motives but not very many. The Bible predicted a great falling away from Him in the last days and I think most of them fit in well with that.
