How tall should it be and other accessories should be on it? I say make it 200 feet tall, put razor wires on the top, put land mines 100feet in front of the wall, many cameras along the border and put some kind of electric current on the wall to shock any one who tries to climb it. And make the wall out of brick!

Please note: although I know some dumba s s is gonna say this, i am not prejudice against Mexicans, but statistcally showing, they are the ones that account for the majority of the illegal immigrants, plus the people that come from South and Central American countries that travel through Mexico.

My Design
For A COST EFFECTIVE
Nearly 2000 Mile
INPENETRABLE Border Security Barricade
For The US / Mexico Border

All US Border Patrol Manpower And Equipment
Will Be ABSORBED By The Army National Guard

The Mission Of Border And Port Security
Will Be Charged
To A Joint National Guard / Coast Guard Agency

Every 200 Miles (Or So) Along The Southern Border
In UNPOPULATED Areas
A Military Recruit Training Center Will Be Built
In Strategic Locations Suited To The Terrain
For ANY And / Or ALL Branches Of The US Military
Total Of 10 (Or So) Facilities
Complete With Detention Center (STOCKADE)

Every 200 Miles (Or So) Between THOSE Facilities
Strategically Located At A Stagger
A US Army National Guard Armory
Total Of 10 (Or So) Facilities
Complete With Detention Center (STOCKADE)
Perhaps A K-9 Training Center
And An Airfield To DEPORT ILLEGAL ALIENS

At A Stagger To Those Facilities
Every 50 Miles Or So
A Small Watchtower / Detention Center
Similar To A County Jail (Stockade)
Total Of 40 (Or So) Facilities

The WATCHTOWERS Are A Key Feature
HIGH Watchtowers
Like The Forest Rangers Use To Spot Fires
We Wont NEED Any Cameras
Whats Wrong With Good, Ol' Fashioned GUARD DUTY??

High Power Binoculars
Night Vision
Radio Dispatch
Sounds Like Fun

Border Security Will Become A PART
Of A Recruits Training
In ANY Branch Of Military

In 40 - 50 Or So Different Watchtowers
Every 40 - 50 Miles Along The Southern Border
80 - 150 Different Recruits Each Day
Will Stand Guard In A Watchtower
In 2 Or 3 Shifts Of 8 To 12 Hours Each

If Youre Paying Attention To The Program
You Realize That There Is A CONSTANT
MILITARY PRESENCE On The Southern Border
Every 50 Miles Or So

The Military Presence Has Absolutely NOTHING To Do
With Border Security Or ILLEGAL ALIENS
They Are There To TRAIN

But The Mere Thought Of Trying To Cross A Rifle Range
Or A Tank Ordinance Range
Or A Guarded Armory
Is A REALLY STRONG DETERRENT

If Your Following This Project
And The Strategic Placements Of The Facilities
You Realize That We Have
40 - 50 Sections Of Fences / Barricades To Build
Approximately 50 Miles Each
Again STRATEGICALLY Constructed
In POPULATED Areas
And Aggressively Patrolled

The Fences / Barricades Will Be 50 Miles Maximum
From One Outpost Or Facility To Another
Less Than One Hour Drive

Heavily Patrolled Border Roads Along The Fenceline
(Again, Part Of A Recruits Training Duties)
Will Ensure The Borders In Populated Areas Are Also Secure
K-9 Patrols In The Patrol Roads Between Fence Layers

Fence Should Be SIMPLE But Effective
Something That Will Take
More Than 20 - 30 Minutes To Breach
(Due To Trainers And Recruits
AGGRESSIVELY Patrolling The Border)

3 Layers
50 Feet Between (Patrol Roads)
Concrete Barriers

4 Ft Thick At The Base
10 Feet Below The Grade

2 Ft Thick At The Top
20 Feet Above The Grade

Over THAT A 20 Foot High Chain Link Fence
Woven With Concertina Wire
Topped With Razor Wire Barrels

The Fence Will Be 40 Feet Above The Grade
20 Feet Concrete With 20 Feet Chain Link Over
If They Get Over Or Through ONE
They'll Hafta Get Over Or Through ALL 3
Without Being Spotted

Short Answer :
MILITARIZE The Border

Any Questions ??

At The U.S./Mexico Border = 14 Days of Iraq War
Posted by The Watchdog -

VDARE

Below is a sample of homeland security items
in the FY2007 Budget,
their estimated costs,
and the time it takes the Pentagon
to burn through the same amount in Iraq.

* 1,500 new Border Patrol agents:
$459 million ($306,000 per agent)
Iraq spending equivalent: 1.9 days

* Container Security Initiative (CSI)
to pre-screen U.S.-bound cargo
at more than 40 foreign ports:
$139 million
Iraq spending equivalent: 13.9 hours.

* An additional 6,700 Detention Bed Spaces
to replace “catch and release”
with a “catch and return” policy:
$410 million.
Iraq spending equivalent: 1.7 days

* An enhanced Worksite Enforcement program
to “send a strong deterrence message to employers who knowingly hire illegal workers…”:
$41.7 million
Iraq spending equivalent: 4.2 hours

* Border technology
to enhance electronic surveillance:
$100 million
Iraq spending equivalent: 10 hours

* 18 additional Fugitive Operations teams
(raising the total to 70)
dedicated to catching
the estimated 450,000 individuals
who have absconded
following their deportation orders:
$30 million
Iraq spending equivalent: 10 hours

* Completion
of the San Diego Border Infrastructure System,
including multiple fences and patrol roads:
$30 million
Iraq spending equivalent: 3 hours

And now for the grand finale.
Although this last item is NOT the least costly,
it may yield one of the biggest benefits.

After the first 10 miles of border fence was completed,
arrests of illegal immigrants
trying to cross the San Diego border sector plummeted
from about 25,000 per year to 3,000 per year.
But of course the San Diego fence
pushed the illegal influx eastward,
into the (less hospitable) Arizona desert.

A serious commitment to border security
would require fencing off the entire southern border—
all 1,891 miles of it.
(For comparison, we have 40,000 miles of Interstate highways.)

At $1.7 million per mile
(the cost of the first 10 mile stretch in San Diego),
the entire U.S.-Mexican border
(all 1,891 miles of it)
could be sealed off for $3.3 billion dollars.

Iraq spending equivalent: 13.8 days.

Cost/benefit analysis, anyone?

Rock/Brick/Cement, 70 - 200ft high is good!! Something the Great Wall of China!!!

Border tower: a tower built next to, or on top of the Border gates to better patrol the Illegal's

Wall tower: a tower built on top of a segment of the wall, which usually extended outwards slightly, so as to be able to cover the walls.

Pre-wall: wall built outside the wall proper, usually of lesser height - the space in between was usually further subdivided by additional walls.

Additional obstacles in front of the walls.

Patrol dogs available and camera's in the wall. Each tower with a unique and restricted stairways and entries to confuse illegals. Barracks and administrative centers are located at larger intervals.

Well if they think you are a dumb ***, jus think what they will think of this. Several years ago I proposed a solution that would have halped with two of our most pressing problems today.
#1 Illegal immigration across our southern border.
#2 Energy or oil.

My solution:
Send the marines down to Mexico City with a great big rubber stamp emobssed with the number "51". We have been and now even more so support a mojor portion of their population. Our bleeding heart liberals want to make them US citizens as it is.
All of the oil from Mexico is paid for by US citizens anyway. So cut out the middle man. At least when they voted in our elections for governor of Mexico their vote would be legal and their Mexican drivers license would be valid.

Cement with an outer covering of smooth steel (on the Mexico side), curved outward at the top and the top covered in concertina wire. Motion sensors with lights and alarms. Monitored on our side of the fence by cameras. Remote controlled guns to shoot anyone even attempting to cross. Military guard presence at regular intervals. People will shoot any wall suggestion down with a lame excuse, but we need a wall and even if it doesn't stop all illegal entry, it will definitely stop most and deter more. Add to it the following, and illegal entry will be a trickle:

* Build the Wall
* Deport illegals here
* No more welfare for illegals (they try they get reported&deported)
* Penalize businesses who hire them
* Penalize anyone who rents, sells housing to them or gives them haven
* Give police, any federal office (DFCS, Soc.Sec Ofc, State Patrol) instructions to report ALL undocumented people to ICE.
* No longer allow babies born in the USA to be considered citizens unless at least one parent is a legal citizen.
* No illegal is allowed to vote, it is against the law, the law is to be enforced.
* Our Border with Canada should also be tightened up to catch possible terrorists.
* Our waterways on the Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans should be diligently patrolled.
* Airports should have exceptionally well trained people manning the scanning machines and monitoring activity.

I love it!! And I laughed til I cried over the tortillas! Landmines can't be considered an act or declaration of war if they're on OUR side. Make the wall big, wide and dangerous! Bring on the steel tooth capped dogs and acid moats. And they can boat across but they can't cross the wall on the other side of the river. Ha!

steel wall, tall, with razor wire, entire wall electrified and have a acid filled canal run the lenght of the wall.

A wall will solve nothing. They will come here no matter what. It will be impossible to stop all the routes in, but maybe it would slow them down. Only time will tell.

you just need to fix with a simple fence and real armed troops that would shoot you if you pass over. They only come because they can, if there were armed guards on the border they would not come.
