So i have microsoft word, its the latest editon. When i scroll through its selection of fonts, it shows me a lot of amazing fonts that i wanna use, but when i choose them and start typing, they don't show up. What gives? THey go to some plain font like simsun or times or something plain. Is it because they're not loaded on my computor or something or do i have to unlock them?

Restarting doesn't help, the higlight-and-change doesn't work with fonts like Japanese, Arabic, or Hebrew. Why don't those work? Niether does Jasmine

See if it works by loading the Media Contents disk. (That's the same disk required for pic art).
