studied physiotherapy for a year before i failed my exams and droppped out so maybe i shouldnt be giving u too much advice but here goes. you have prob damaged a tendon in ur knee. put loads of ice on it for the next few days. try to do as little as possible on it and keep it elevated if possible. after 4/5 days there will be a big improvment and then start excersing and strengthening it. and also tell ur boyfriend to be more carefull in the future.

This happened to me. I was on my way to Disneyland having come a long distance so basically I just kept going (in much pain) for the 3 days we were there. I kept thinking it would get better but it got much worse but I felt I did not want to ruin my partner's time at Disneyland so I just tried to do the best I could.
On our return home, I could barely walk. Went to emergency.
They took Xrays, made me do various manoeuvres that hurt bad.
I wanted a cortisone shot in my knee but the doctor refused for a reason I forget. Being allergic to anti-inflammatory, I was given Tylenol 3 which helped some. Told to put heat or ice on it depending on what helped. Heat helped at that point which was about a week after it happened. Was given crutches but too too awkward for me so I just held that leg straight as much as possible when I walked. I was sent for physical therapy and given exercises to do. Eventually, the pain got less and less. Two years later, I still get twinges of pain in it but I am hoping never to go through that agony again. You have my sympathy!

If you have a dog have the dog lick it like 50 times and it will heal faster...uh...ice pack and rest it...the tendon damage repairs itself given a chance. No need to go to a doctor and spend $$$. Pop an advil i it hurts.

You could have a sprain or serious tendon damage. Best to see a doc on this one.

Go to an orthopedist, then can determine if it's a tendon problem and also read an x-ray to see if its something worse. Don't go to the ER becuase all they will do is take an x-ray and tell you to go somehwere else to have it read on Monday.

When I twisted my arm the Dr. gave me a hand brace to wear for a week. He told me I had a stretched ligament. But if your leg is the one that is hurt, I suggest you see a Dr.
