I'm a muslim and well No. 1 I believe that no1 should be forced to wear a scarf..... they should do it because they are willing . One should wear a scarf out of fear of God and not out of fear of their spouse...
And well I wouldn't want to share my husband with anyone so i say she did the right thing...
tell her to be patient and do good ....God is with the patient and righteous
(Hey i think u posted a question like a few months ago saying ur friendz husband forced her to wear a scarf....am i right??)

Hijab (the wearing of a scarf) is not obligatory, many muslims have not read the Quran, they rely on what their Imams tell them. The Quran says that one must simply dress modestly. I fear that Islam has strayed very far from what it was intended in this respect, which is surprising as the islamic attitude to women is I fear mans mysogynistic attitude and the fact that Islam has not progressed for over 1500 years. As with all religion people will pick and choose what suits them. She was quite right to break up with this man if only to preserve her own self dignity.

Is that what the world has come to these days? Find the right religion and you can legally commit adultary? Ofcourse she did the right thing, I just wonder how many other women are stuck knowing that they are 1 of 6 choices their husband has to sleep with at night...

Watch the movie "Not Without My Daughter", it's not just a movie, it really happens. I've also read a book about a woman who married a muslim and her story is heart-breaking. I think she did the right thing. But I'm sure there are some really nice guys among them, so I am not labeling all of em.

Yes. There is a difference between compromising and simply doing what your partner/spouse wants just to keep the peace. By asking for a second wife he just proved that he had no respect for her feelings or her background.

Yes most definitely, the measure of spiritual advancement and ones individual purity and personal value will never be categorised by anything as superficial as this and anyone thinking that to be the case has missed the point.

of course she did, you should not marry someone who practices a different religion that you are not ready to be part of. When the kids come along there will be a fight over which religion the kids will be part of, and in the long run the kids will probably choose neither.

i think he took it a bit too fast but he did do the right thing in asking her first because i know some men who dnt take the opinion of their first wife and just get married anyway
and whatever she does is up to her if she doesnt wantt a man that will love 2 people then its her choice but some women dont mind.
but in my opinion i think she shud of tried talking him out of it first and if he wudnt change his mind then she can break up if she wants.

Of course she did...that's why i say that islam is not a religion for women, in the quran we are mentioned as second category persons. She should do that long before...she did the right thing.
