You soo have the wrong idea of cats.
You can't choose a personality.
They are like kids... you get want you get and you can't judge it by 2 mintues of playing with it.
If you want the best personality you can get, your best opition is to get a pure breed from a well know breeder.
Yes its nice to adopt but adoption are for those cats that have been so cross breed that their brain is scrambled. Thats why they distroy everything.
Cat Hair..Forget it. Its a loss cause
I am sorry but you do not sound like you are ready for a cat if you are already complaining about the hair.

Ok so it sound like you don't really want a cat then. It doesn't really matter what breed it is all cats pretty much do the same things. They get crazy and tear through the house from time to time, and they will scratch furniture unless you get them declawed or have very well placed scratching posts. Not all cats enjoy being the lap cat unless it happens to be thier idea and then it's only on thier terms. And kittens like to get into everything because they are curious and trying to learn what things are. And almost all cats shed and sometimes it's a lot. So either you want a cat and all the things that cats do or you dont want a cat. That's about all there is to it and I hope you find what you are looking for in a pet.

All kittens will be active, but you can train them easily. With a scratching post, they won't scratch furniture. Within any breed, there will be cuddly cats, and those that aren't so much - so sometimes it's hit and miss. But in general, most cats are lap cats. About the shedding, get a domestic shorthair, then that won't be as bad as some others. Good luck in finding your dream cat! We currently have a beautiful Ragdoll, with gorgeous bunny fur and loving personality.

Every kitten is very active, that's like asking, I want a baby but not one that cries. Come on, missy. Maybe you should look into a pocket puppy, (little mini or teacup size dogs) I have a Himalayan and he's a beautiful cat, I buy him hairball food and shave him down so he never has the hairball problem. He's 9yrs old and for the most part he sleeps the day and night away but every so often he runs around the house like a mad man playing with invisible objects! Maybe you should do a little more research on what you want. Hamster or gerbils are good

Then you don't want a cat!!!! Kittens are active, very active, they scratch your furniture, unless you have them declawed and are very independent. They will sleep on you lap only if they want to, which is not often! All cats shed some or lots and they all get hair balls. Think two or three times before getting a kitten, they need lots of attention, patients, and love. They love to follow you around and jump on your kitchen cabinets, hide in your closets, climb up your drapes and unroll your toliet paper! Unless you love these little creatures don't get one. I have two and find them to be very entertaining. They are two very well care for and happy cats!

I suggest finding sources for adopting. If you get a cat that's 1-2 years old, you will have a better awareness of a cat's personality. The link below will help you find adoption sites in your area. Good luck!

go to a local rescue facility or a shelter. If you do not want the kitty to act like a kitty and run around and scratch stuff, get an older kitty who needs a home. cats shed, perhaps with all your needs you need to get a stuffed kitty or a hot water bottle.

You should just adopt a kitten from the SPCA. They need homes. And they can be the best cat you will ever have. About the shedding. Get a short haired one. They hardly ever get hair balls.

If you want something cuddly that will love to be a pet, get a dog.

They are rare, but I think you would an all white Maine Coon. I have one and he is like that. They have long hair, not fur so they don't shed and they don't affect people who are are normally allergic to cats.
