Lol! It's so funny to read all the answers here berating you for your stupidity.
The majority here, being American, cannot appreciate the humour of your question, nor perceive the wry smile you gave as you wrote about Judas!
Your question and the the ensuing answers prove beyond doubt what we in the UK already know... the Americans absolutely cannot understand the British sense of humour - mainly because they're not bright enough to read between the lines.

I think that is a silly comment, for people who speak other languages their names are traduced to those languages as well, for example, I am Hispanic, and the names would be: Mateo. Marcos, Lucas, Juan, Pedro, Santiago, Andres, Felipe, Tomas, Simon (the zealot), Bartolome and finally Judas, you can't get more Hispanic than that, except probably the last two names.

Ah.........those are Hebrew names. Jewish names because they were Jews. The English accepted Christianity and in reading the bible wanted to name there children after the apostles and then they became English names. Not the other way around.
David was a bible character that they admired and named their children after this bible character.

He didn't. He chose disciples with Jewish names. The names were given an English equivalent when the Bible was translated.

This is a JOKE right? Are you that clueless?These are Hebrew names and Greek names that ARE TRANSLATED to ENGLISH.
You know in a Spanish Bible ,John is Juan,aren't you proud Jesus only picked guys with Spanish names?

John...Yohanan, Simon...Simeon , Greek to English,Peter(which was a nickname)Petros(rock) James...Jacob,Matthew...Mattias, even Jesus' name is Joshua...because the Bible is translated from Greek to English...the Greek for Jesus is Ieosus,in Hebrew it's Yshua,which is Joshua.See in Hebrews 4:8 it uses the word Jesus (King James version)to speak of Joshua (you know the battle of Jericho Guy)because they are translated from Greek to English.

PS: The Old Test. was translated from Hebrew to Greek then to English.....The New Test. from Greek to English except for the book of Matthew which was written in Hebrew or Aramaic then Greek and then English...Whew!

what a stupid question. Did you ever consider that they have English names because you are reading an English version of the bible? And the names have been changed to English to make it easier for You to pronounce, because you haven't the smarts to read the correct spelling?

I am pretty certain, their names, like Jesus' was in another language and translated into the English names. Nothing odd about it.

LOL the bible is translated in many languages!!
I speak French and in *my* Bible the names are all like Jacques, Jean, Barthélémy, André ... to name a few...
I've never felt particularly proud of those names though ;)
