As with Iraq, Iran would lose in the short term, the US would lose in the end.

Nobody wins, a war is harmful to both sides and in this case, to the whole world. the oil price will be $100+ soon after the war started and many companies will go bankruptcy.
I wonder how some people comment on other people's lives as simple as they suggest a whole country destroy! there are 70+ million people living there in Iran with more than 60% of women and children! What do you guys really know about a nuke explosion?
Moreover, Iran is not like Iraq or any other country in middle east! It is a large land and with several very different regions. There are mountains, woods, deserts, lands, etc. in one single country. You don't underestimate Iran, just remember what happened in Vietnam. and pray day and night that this war never begins.

It depends on the type of war between the parties hereto. A shooting war will produce casualties on both sides. When you have boots on the ground, you have casualties. Even if the Iranians never got a shot off, there will be casualties. Friendly fire, ordinance going off pre-maturely, vehicular accidents, etc.
When you're in a war zone, the adrenaline is flowing at the rate of sound, therefore accidents happen. Know one is to blame, it just happens.
In an air war, the same thing is true. There will be casualties, but the US would absolutely reign superior to anything that an upstart like Iran could throw at them.
Iran stands absolutely no chance of fighting a good fight against the US, and coming out anything but a loser!
The casualty ratio is anyone's guess, but if I had to make a guess, I'd give it a 100 to 1 ratio!

If, or should I say when, Bush decides to bomb Iran, there could be no clear cut winner, just like Iraq. There would probably be no way it could stay just between us, and them either. It would likely be the tipping point leading into world war 3.

The war would last 8 months at the outset, and when American forces occupied parts of Iran they would fight a protracted guerilla war of 7 years. The casualties would be as follows: US Army 6,954 killed 14,989 wounded US Marines: 5,201 killed 13,865 wounded USAF 473 killed 1956 wounded IRANIAN FORCES: Iranian Army 29,895 killed 54,865 wounded Revolutionary Guards: 7954 killed 12891 wounded civilian/other: 67,876 killed, unknown wounded
The winner....probably Raytheon Corp or General Dynamics

Even without nukes the U.S. could destroy every major city in Iran without a single American casuality. If they made the mistake to use nukes against us I am afraid over sixty percent of the Iranian population who live near or in major cities would be vaporized. Irans nukes will probably never reach the U.S. They prefer to bomb a small country like Israel.

Do you think this is some kind of a game?? No one wins a war. People, many people die for someone elses beliefs and not necessarily their own. Why do you post such a harmful question?

Iran has one national resource and they are holding it over the heads of every country for their support . To be able to use a nuclear bomb to insure they can continue the charad of oil prices, and terrorist support. They want LEBANON AND OTHER
PLACES TO HOUSE terrorists who support the idealism that America and Isreal have no right to exist. Who the hell gives any country the right. If the US policy should extend into righteousness like the right to be free of these persons the world quivers... Get a Grip all of these puppet countries who enpower Iran/ You could be next.on Irans bazzaar list.

If there were no nukes, the USA would overwhelm them if prepared right from the beginning. We have alot of air power that they have never seen before and I would use it. Let's just hope that it never comes to it!!
