It's my belief that we take traits from our parent's and "choose" to either go with these or against.
Same with God. He did, after all, create us in his image and likeness. Thus, the way we might look at our children grow and do good and bad things...so too does he (as OUR Father).
We know right from wrong, and God, like any parent, wants to see us do what's right. He loves us after all!

I'll make it short.Because Adam fell from grace,we are born body(physical) and soul(consciousness).Jesus said "Truly I say ,You must be born again" and the Rabbi he was talkin' to was a wise guy ,he says,"Can I crawl back in my mother's womb?"
Jesus said "Look,(I'm paraphrasing)you are born physically by bursting forth from the water of the womb, but to connect with God you must be born 'spiritually' by believing in Me.Then God's Spirit will inhabit you".
Now we are body, soul, and spirit..complete,1x1x1=1 whole person, just like 1x1x1=1 complete God ,Father ,Son and Holy Spirit. Then God is in us and we can be led by the Spirit as Paul says in Galatians 5:18

yes, we are all God's children. Since God made us all, he is in us. Its really up to the person to decide whether or not to let God's Holy Spirit in them. His spirit is in everyone. When you give someone something special or give someone you love a hug, you know that feeling you get of joy, thats God tapping on your heart.
