I was abused as a child and even though I would love to take the lives of my abusers, I am not sure if I could. But if someone hurt my child, I would without doubt kill them dead. I know that this would have huge karmic reprocutions, but would take that risk.

I do believe that if kill someone in anger or rage or pre meditated killing and it can be proven without a shaddow of a doubt, then you be put to death. So, if I was caught killing someone who hurt my child, should I be killed in return?

Lots of them. They are explained in the Bible and Islam book. Note that the law today may have a different opinion. Here's the cardinal Spiritual rule give in most every Holy book. Do not swiftly take innocent life. Life is in the blood (Bible OT) so then the worst thing you can do is abortion cuz those are the ones really innocent. From there the more aggressive a person is the more likely God is not gonna come down hard on ya.

If you wish to eat, you must kill. If you want your immune system to work, it must kill.

Of course, you could mean HUMAN life, and that's often considered different (usually arbitrarily). There is no axiom for this, there are just too many veriables. But if there is a reason you or someone else will die if you do not kill, that seems to be a generally accepted reason to kill.

Only in war. It is not right to decide that you will just take a life. In the time of war you are not premeditating, you are doing it to aid
your country. In war it is not a personal thing.

When that person is trying to take yours.

When that person is trying to take the life of a loved one.

I believe those situations would not lead to negative karma on your part.
