How can I easily measure calories in liquor? Like, what are the differences in all the liters,millimeters,grams...etc,etc.?! What would equal, say,a cup of 80 proof Rum or Whiskey, and how many calories per cup?
I hope i'm making sense here...also,is liquor as "fattening" beer?
Thankyou much....

If you are going to drink liquor. DRINK!! Stop worrying about the calories. Do expect them to make Diet Rum?

Whoa, some possibly bad answers here. Alcohol has 7 calories per gram. Sugar has 4 calories per gram. So for the same size drink, more alcohol is worse than more sugar.

Of course, the worst thing of all is lots of sugar and alcohol.

A good-sized pina colada has over 1000 calories!

Beer is not that high in calories by volume because there's not much alcohol. Wine is worse.

One drink (11/2 oz) of 80 proof spirits (rum, vodka, bourbon, tequila) contains 85 calories.

liquor still has calories. less than beer. the ones that taste nasty have the least sugar and therefore calories. Whiskey and Rum are pretty high i calories. Gin is lower.
