As far as I know, Doberman Pinschers are not more predisposed to epileptic seizures than other breeds, but it is possible for them to have seizures. There are many things that can cause seizures and they can range from very mild, hardly noticeable to very serious grand mal seizures. Talk to your vet about epilepsy and keep a journal to record when the dog has seizures, the severity and what happened leading up to the seizure. If the seizures are mild and not very frequent, often the vet will do nothing. If they become more frequent or are severe, he may prescribe a medication to control the seizures or recommend a neurological evaluation.

"Approximately 1-6% of purebred dogs have a seizure problem 4, and most of this epilepsy seems to be genetic (PES). The incidence of epilepsy varies tremendously by breed, with a very large number of breeds, at least 20, having a high incidence of hereditary epilepsy.

A genetic basis for epilepsies in the following breeds has been established:

* Beagles5
* Belgian Tervuerens6
* German Shepherds7
* Keeshonds8
* Labrador Retrievers9
* Golden Retrievers10
* British Alsatians7
* Collies11
* Welsh Springer Spaniels12

Several additional breeds have a high incidence of epilepsy that is no doubt genetic, but they haven't been studied in depth. These include:

* Poodles (all three breeds)
* Boxers
* Cocker Spaniels
* Dachshunds
* Irish Setters
* Miniature Schnauzers
* Saint Bemards
* Siberian Huskies
* Wire Fox Terriers13
* Bemer Sennenhund
* Horaks Laborhund "

The Doberman has strongly developed, white teeth. Lower incisors upright and touching inside of upper incisors a true scissors bite. 42 correctly placed teeth, 22 in the lower, 20 in the upper jaw. Hope that answers your query.
