AWESOME! Girl I do the same thing! I work for a company called G2 secure staff and we are contracted to do so many things at the airport to save the airlines money, and that is 2 of the things that we do. I USED TO clean planes for Northwest Airlines, (taken over by another company now...ASM) and I also do wheelchairs part time for some extra cash. I work in Milwaukee. I get 6.50 an hour but on a busy day i can make 10-15 an hour pushing wheelchairs, on top of the wage. I usually work a 10 hour shift. On average I come out with 50-70 dollars. Monday-Wednesday. The weekends isnt as good, Monday-Wednesday are the busiest by far. Good luck. Alot of people say what...pushing wheelchairs??? But its good money.

PS Little Richard Travels alot....Not kidding, he tips the wheelchair attendant $100 bucks., not kidding...I got him before.

Good luck with the new job
Also cleaning planes is so easy!
We usually have 6 people on the aircraft, it takes maybe 45 minutes for an airbus a320.
DONT FOLD THE BLANKETS. You might have a rash the next day...they can be brutal! lol
my e-mail is fenderbender05@yahoo.com
I can answer any airport questions
aim is VroomPsshTSi

Good luck

I think it is a wonderful entry level position into the airport. As the other responders have already said, you get the advantage of already being on the "inside" and proving your abilities as well.

Pushing wheelchairs may not sound very glamorous but I know quite a few people who do that job. And you know something? None of them want to leave it. You will meet so many extraordinary people who will bring a smile to your face every day. You will learn things about other people, and yourself, that you haven't even considered yet.

I say go for it!

It's honest work and it can pay the rent. The good part is, it will put you in a situation where you will be able to meet people and learn what jobs are available and, since you are already on the inside and have all your clearances and badges, it makes you a more desirable employee.

You should find a really good job within a year of starting at the airport... trust me... it's worth the effort.

No job is bad in the world. If you don't have any other option, accept the job. If you don't like it, quit the job and try again.

Before joining the job, better know your responsibilities and bond periods.
