Your body will use storage of fat, or even muscle for energy. This is called catabolism. Don't starve yourself, you are not helping your body at all by starving to be healthy. You need to keep a balanced diet of carbs and protein with healthy fats and exercise regularly.

Carbohydrates are merely one of the forms that glucose is found and can be stored in the body. Primarily the body stores glucose in glycogen form, mainly in muscle tissue. The body can also digest various other chemicals to form glucose in the body, including starch (as found in plants), sucrose (in sugar), lactose (in milk/dairy products) and fat. If there is insufficient glucose in the body to feed the major organs then the body will begin "eating" itself, usually starting with muscle tissue.

We need carbs, in a good balance with proteins of course. I get so sick of the no-carb diets, they are just not good for you. Too many carbs will be stored as fat that is as bad as that gets, but too many proteins will cause many diseases. Balance is the key.
