I don't think we will ever have a eutopian society, but it seems to me that all the wars that are going on are because of religion. It would be so nice if we could get past relgion, race and borders.

I can't remember who the quotes from, but I know someone said something like if all the world religions dissapeared in the morning, mankind would find another excuse to kill each other by noon. Religion is rarely the cause of violence, just the tool that men hide behind.

People seem to blame religion for everything. The United States did not invade Iraq because of religion. The Civil War was not fought over religion. The Revolutionary War was fought over the right to be free. The World Wars were fought because of greed. The world would be a better place if there were no war. Religion gives hope and happiness to believers.

If man could set aside all indifferences, the world would be Utopia. Unfortunately, not everyone is raised by loving, caring, understanding parents. But when I die, I want it to be said that I followed "The Golden Rule...Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." A better place with no religion? No. Personally I believe that without any religion, the life span of human beings would be much shorter.

I am Atheist. I don't think the world would be a better place without religion.

Religion keeps morons in line,at least a great deal of them. A phrase I have heard all too often from thiests is

Paraphrasing: If there is no punishment for what you do while on earth, why should we behave?
This thought process is sufficient reason for me beleive that many people would misbehave, and many others would not be moved to do kind things they do do in the mistaken beleif that they will collect a reward from their *GOD* once they die.

All wars are political in nature and Ours is one of the only Governments that separates Church and state FOR THAT REASON ALONE!

Not because it isn't fair to have to see a menorah if I'm christian or a tree if I am an atheist. People use and abuse their rights, privileges and circumstances as a means to their own agenda.

Religion and the religious do not cause wars. Politics and political agenda within and religion used as an excuse for war is the reason we have them.

The world would be much better off .
70 % of fighting and wars are about race or religions .
If you get rid of the Crap ,you get rid of the STINK.
I am still afraid as humans we would still f*ck up this world of ours .
I can`t figure out why we consider ourselves the most intelligent .
Animals haven`t ever put the world on the brink of total annihilation.

It think it would cause alot less problems in the world yes but unfortunately most cultures are based on the morals that their religion has helped intergrate into society and it would take generations to change them!

Yes. All religions are man made. They are not based on the truth of God. The word of God calls them 'the doctrines and commandments of men'.
God is not into race, borders, cultures or relgion. He loves everyone the same. I teach his truth to everyone who wants to know, regardless of race, creed, culture, upbrining, country, etc.

God is no respecter of persons, and we are to imitate him so we need to stop being respecters of people.

I think a unifying philosophy would be good. I think the Star Trek universe of Gene Roddenberry presents a worthwhile and interesting future.
