The Dems are up in arms about the ABC movie about 9/11. Saying that ABC should pull it off the air or edit it to make it more friendly to the people involved. Isn't that censorship. I don't recall President Bush telling anyone to edit or destroy farenheit 911. And that movie was a "so-called" documentary. Are the politicians finally seeing what a farse hollywood really is? And why is it that the democrats feel they have a right to censor anything. We are in the U.S.A.. Ever hear of "FREE SPEECH"

I am amazed at how many of you think Farenheit 911 was factual. Maybe ABC should pull it off the air if there are so many naive people that take the propaganda as factual.

Yes. They are attempting to violate the free speech rights of others.

Farehnheit 911 was full of false facts and presented scenes that NEVER HAPPENED, yet there were NO criticisms from the democrats.

I also find it interesting all the criticisms are stemming from people who have NOT seen the program. Let's see the program then decide.

By the way, when republicans criticized the F911 movie, they did NOT stop the airing. Democrats are moving to STOP this airing. There's a HUGE difference between complaining about a program and preventing it from being aired. One is exercising freedom of speech, the other is exercising CENSORSHIP.

It's really rather comical that if you scan up and down the list of votes, all posts supporting censoring this program have thumbs up, all posts supporting freedom of speech have thumbs down.

It doesn't matter what anyone says, you seem to have your mind made up anyway. Did you ask this question to further your hate against Democrats or were you looking for an actual answer?

No, it is not hypocritical. Farenheit 9-11 was a movie that you had to actually go pay to see. This is on public airwaves. If you are going to present a fact based movie, and then throw a few "spins" in it, then those "spins" need to be removed, so people can judge on the facts.

Republicans had "The Reagans" pulled from CBS not too long ago. So wouldn't it be hypocritical for you to say that Democrats are against Free Speech?

Uh, there IS a difference, you know. Fahrenheit 911 wasn't offered free on TV; it was produced by Michael Moore and was shown in movie theaters, where people had to pay to see it.
Democrats aren't "censoring" anything; they're complaining, just as so many Republicans complained about Fahrenheit 911. That's called "free speech."
The Republicans couldn't stop Moore from showing it in theaters to paying customers where you had the choice to go or not. The Democrats can't stop ABC from showing "The Path to 9/11."
"The Path to 9/11" is being shown on the public airways. Many will see it as being "factual" when even the creators have admitted that some of it is pure imagination.

since ferinhiet 9-11 was not a network sponcerd mini series and a stidio movie production then no it is not hyprocritical my conserns and the difference in the two are simple ferinhieght 9-11 was supposedly based on facts the government has withheld or twisted and the path to 9-11 is an outright fabrication of facts that depict the people involved in a way that does not resemble fact and are in a light as being fact one cant help but to seee it as an attempt to sway voter oppinion months before mid terms and im my mind only shows that if we dont change the system in power now we will be less likly to hear the trueth about any event unles we seek outside media so in short we are being forced into a corner when it comes down to brass tacts and we need to start paying attention to the between the lines and tell the politicians they are on notice we will not go quietly into the night anymore

It is only censorship when you are being forced not to watch it. they are ASKING to take it off. That is not censorship. Besides you have a good point about free speech. the reason they want it gone though is because even though it is fiction people will think it is fact, in other words it's propaganda.

I'll give you an example of this happening before. The Da Vinci Code Christians wanted it banned etc.. even though it was fiction and some people thought it was real etc.

There is a big difference between censorship and NOT telling the truth. ABC had claimed that it was presenting the program as history and it has a scene in it that not only never happened, is derogatory to the previous administration. Free speech has its limits, and LYING is not part of "free speech". BTW: its spelled "farce" not "farse". Of course, if you think ABC is going over the line you can always blame it on the "liberal media"! LOL!!!

I think that the propaganda piece, "Path to 9/11" should be shown in it's entirety AFTER the November elections. It is obvious that this cheesy manipulated pile of crap was created and funded by the the right-wing to sway the electorate (not all that sophisticated to begin with) to vote for candidates who support the Bush regime's rape of America. That ABC would participate in such a sham seems to indicate that they have either been intimidated or infiltrated by the fascist elements trying to totally control America for their own benefit.

Bush couldn't object to "Fahrenheit 911" because they couldn't challenge the truth.

Same thing happened with the Reagan movie...
Republicans went BALLISTIC on it not being

WHY IS IT ONLY OK WHEN
REPUBLICANS GO BALLISTIC
AND CRY FOUL?

The right-wingers had a fit ...
CBS airing a movie about Reagan
not made by Reagan lovers.
CBS cancelled it.

an extraordinary conservative furor over a movie virtually no one has seen ... CBS pulls Reagan miniseries

Sources close to the production said Monday CBS is considering canceling the docudrama, slated to air Nov. 16 and 18, under mounting criticism from political conservatives that the two-part series unfairly depicts Reagan and his wife

Capping an extraordinary conservative furor over a movie virtually no one has seen, CBS said Tuesday it will not air "The Reagans"

CBS is being accused of caving to political pressure, in deciding not to air a two-part movie about Ronald and Nancy Reagan.

I have heard of FREE SPEECH and think that the film abuses it. For a 'docu-drama" there NEEDS to be truth, it has been fictionalized to the extreme. It is more of a Republican propaganda film. They say that it is taken from the 9/11 bi-partisan commission but they forgot to use the report as written. This "film" is typical right wing re-writing of history to suit their needs.

great question and confident I agree. For those of you who say that Republicans do little for the undesirable i visit submit this lower back. it rather is been shown with many learn that Republicans provide extra to charity than Democrats do. Democrats do in comparison to giving out their very own money they prefer freely giving others.
