My sister found a kitten that couldn't poop, and her dog started licking the kittens butt and got things started. That's what happens in nature... mom cat gets things moving... for you, try a warm washcloth. Don't feed the poor kitty diuretics!

If she's eating regular kitten food, get some moist food and mix in some pumpkin. This is a natural hairball remedy because it helps coat the intestines and make things "pass". And then, of course, use the wet washcloth/paper towel stimulation method that so many others have already mentioned.
This was 7 hours ago....I hope kitty's pooped by now!

Give her some white karo syrup in her water. About 2 tablespoons per cup of water. It helps babies with gas and constipation. You can also try hairball med if she is hairy or if she was so hungry that she had eaten something that wasn't food and has stopped her up! I had a cat that would eat fuzz whenever she saw it! I guess she thought it was her hair on the floor? She had trouble going sometime because of that. Another cat decided she liked to chew on the plastic broom straws and they would come up in her hairballs and out with the poop. It was weird to see green plastic in her poop and hairballs. I finally figured out that it was the broom and turned it upside down so she couldn't get to it. Then she jumped up on the washing machine so she could get it! Crazy cat. I finally had to move it completely! I told you this because cats will eat other things if they need a certain vitamin or if they are hungary. I think mine just liked to chew to brush her teeth! I suppose you are gently rubbing her above the tailbone to stimulate?Best wishes for kitty and bless you for taking such good care of her. You may need to stop feeding her until she poops to keep her from being too full and rupturing her intestines! or having other medical issues. I wouldn't feed her anymore until she pooped if I had her. Poor baby!!

I had this problem with a kitten that I raised. She was still eating and everything but she just wouldn't poop and she ended up needing an enima from the vet plus they had to look up there with an endoscope (she had a huge blockage) she would have died if we hadn't taken her in. Sometimes you just have to eat the bill if you really care

how old is it? Milk gives kitten diarriah usually. Not sure if giving it to him or her will make it go poop or make it worse. I woul just call a vet, thats free, dont have to go in, jsut get their opinion. I do that a lot with random things that are not something that serious. If it has not pooped in days then it is serious though and u need to take it to a vet or even give it to a shelter and they will take it to a vet.

i went throught the same thing except i brought my kitten to the vet and did exactly what Lisa said to do. Wet a paper towel with warm water and lightly rub the kitten's rectum. if this doesnt work my vet said to take a clean eye dropper or very small syringe and inject a little bit of warm water into the kitten's rectum. best of luck

Simply feed the kitten some oily food or give it some HairBall remedy (sold in drugstores or grocery stores) It'll lube things up.
Also the wet washrag thing is good.

Try a tiny tiny dose of a laxative? I dont know, cats can be allergic to human medicine. How about a small bit of sardines, the kind packed in oil? that caused my cat to have diarrhea for days. dont give him too much, it could dehydrate him quickly. maybe a 1/2 spoonful to start and then a bit more if nothing happens in an hour or so.

Try calling an animal shelter or the SPCA. Maybe someone there will be willing to give you some ideas on how to help.
Even try the vet's office. Maybe they will tell you something over the phone.
Good luck

Have her eat grass or call your vet and tell her you found a kitten and that you can't afford the vet bill but does she know anyone who can help or call the local animal shelter and ask for their assistance.
