Ordinary leave is leave you have already earned. Advance leave is leave you haven't earned yet, but will before the end of your enlistment. Excess leave is leave taken that cannot be earned before the end of your enlistement. The Army will charge you $$$ for excess leave when u separate or reenlist. Of course, you get maternity leave when u deliver. 6 weeks convalescent (no leave charged.)

Advanced is before you earn it, excess is having more than allowable on your account at the begining of a new fiscal year, more than 60 days. Ordinary leave is regular leave.
