Almost anything can make you fat and on the other hand, nothing will make you fat.

It all has to do with your calorie intake. If you want to eat a few peanuts then you have to save up the calories for them.

An ounce of peanuts has around 160 calories. Most people eat 3 ounces of peanuts when they grab a big handful. That's a whopping 480 calories!

If you feel that you can be satisified with just 1 ounce, then take away something else that will equal 160 calories (sorry, you can't take away vegetables or skip a meal).

You can also try to increase your physical activity to burn up 160 calories.

I eat peanuts all the time (well, until last week -- I may have developed a sudden allergy), and they never made me fat. In fact, peanut butter is one of those foods that can help with a diet, because even a very small amount, calorie-wise, can give you a feeling of eating enough to be satisfied, so you aren't tempted to eat too much of that or anything else. (This according to Prevention magazine.)

Yeah, nuts of all kinds have a lot of fat in them-haven't you noticed the oil? But they're loaded with nutrients and antioxidants, so you should eat them but be very careful not to overeat them.
