I do some walking. A brisk walk of an hour gives me 3 miles. I would say, 20 minutes would give you a mile. Because blocks are not standard in size, if it take you 20 minutes to complete the circle, then that is about a mile.

Blocks are not uniform size, although I read somewhere that a block, as a rough unit of distance measure, is about 1/4 mile. This is only an estimate, though.

Most people walk between 3 and 4 miles an hour, so you may get a better estimate (but still only an estimate) by seeing how long it takes you to walk a distance. If you walk fast, 1 hour equals about a mile.

the standard mile at least when i went to school consisted of 12 city blocks so if you did 16 blocks you went 1 1/4 miles keep up the good work gorbalizer

a "block" is a bad measure because not all blocks are uniform in size. you have to get a car or something that measures miles, drive your path, and add it up.
