If the Bible says that all have sinned: Romans 3: 23 (except Jesus...it says He was sinless: 1 Peter 1: 19) Mary has sinned as well. Honestly she says in Luke 1: 47, "My spirit rejoice in God my savior." Who needs a savior besides sinners. And since she is a sinner it is wrong to worship her. So why do Catholics do this?

i'm so tired of having to answer this question all the time. catholics don't worship mary. we believe that mary was designated by god from the moment of her conception as a pure, sinnless person. this was done so that she could give birth to the son of god. this is what is known as the immaculate conception: mary's conception. many people think that the immaculate conception is the conception of jesus, but it is actually the conception of mary becasue she was conceived without original sin (and therefore "immaculate). the idea is that god chose a very special person to bear his son. this person couldn't have sin on their soul. so he created mary. catholics don't worship her. we just really revere here because she gave birth to the savior. we ask her to pray for us because we believe that those in heaven can go to god on our behalf. not that we don't pray to god, though. it's like asking your friends to pray for you: you can never have too many people praying for you.

Good Question!!

Mary was completely Human and therefore was a sinner. I cannot worship any person, only God. I don't know how Catholics can worship her. I may hold her up in my prayers, but I need no Intercessor to the Intercessor. To believe so would make The Christ a Liar: He said, " I am the way and the Truth and the Light. No man can come to the Father, Except by me"
Why would I need anyone else, Either his word is sufficient or it is false. If it is false then why be a Christian. I don't say any of this to condemn the Catholics, I have many Catholic friends, but I have never gotten a satisfactory answer to this question.

Mary was no doubt blessed among women yet in no way is she equal with God or His Son. When Jesus was told that His mother and brethren waited outside to see Him His response was "..whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven , the same is my brother , and sister , and mother." Matthew 12:50.These are scriptures that the catholic people need to address.Mary was no doubt a blessed woman but still a sinner in need of a Savior of witch I believe she did except. What I fail to understand is why they choose to Hail Mary and say shes full of grace. When they could Hail Jesus and receive grace from the source of grace.Mary didn't die that we could receive grace Christ the Son of God did.Worshiping Mary is blasphemy at it's best.I can't imagine standing before God as Judge with only the grace of Mary a sinner saved by the blood of Jesus.Jesus says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.By His grace through His sacrifice I am saved and Mary is my sister in Christ.Sorry if the truth hurts , but I do love you enough to tell you.

Remember, Breaking the Sabbath was such a sin to Jews that one could have been stoned to death for this particular infraction.

Jesus was an unrepentant, repeat Sabbath breaker, and therefore a sinner, knowing this, Jesus must also need a Savior.

Jesus also lied to the thief on the cross (Logically) if Jesus knew he were going to hell for three days, then telling the thief on the cross that "Verily, I say unto you, that you will be"with me, this day (today) in paradise" was a blatant lie. Lying is a sin, and liars are sinners ( According to christian mythology)
The Jesus deception is old hat, and anyone with critical thinking faculties intact should reject this idiocy out of hand.

Oh what tangled webs we weave, when we first practice to deceive.

Every person is born into sin. The only exception was Jesus, but He became the greatest sinner of all time, when He took the sins of mankind withHim to the cross. That is why God turned his face from him and darkness fell. Afte Jesus died, He descended into hell and took all man's sins and left them there.

Catholics do not worship Mary. They recognize her importance in the creation of Christianity and celebrate that.

Correct, Mary was not free from sin.

I asked a similar question, and was told that they don't worship her, they just ask her to pray to God on their behalf. I don't see a difference. If you are praying to anyone but God directly, you are praying to an idol. Idols are worshiped. That's why they are called Idols. And no, I never got a straight answer. Telling me that they are praying to her because she is close to God is an excuse, not an answer.
